SaintJet Posted December 19, 2023 Report Posted December 19, 2023 Laid up with a slipped disc so I’ll keep this short. Tough ask to get something out of this when Rangers have the other team in their sights plus back from their league cup win. Hope we shock them. Discuss Quote
pezza70 Posted December 19, 2023 Report Posted December 19, 2023 A free hit for us as we aren’t expected to get anything from the game m. Will we play Fran on such a short turn around out of his natural position again? Quote
Havana Saint Posted December 19, 2023 Report Posted December 19, 2023 Nothing to fear. Get intae them. Quote

garydavidson Posted December 20, 2023 Report Posted December 20, 2023 Huge motivation for Rangers with Celtic slipping up so it will be very easy to frustrate the home crowd and I suspect that will be our tactic. Not sure if we ultimately have the quality to withstand it for a full game. Be beautiful to dent their ideal that they are already top of the league. Quote
blueheaven Posted December 20, 2023 Report Posted December 20, 2023 I definitely feel we can get something out of this. We need to try to find the right balance between stifling/frustrating them, and not just sitting back on our 18-yard line and letting them come at us. I reckon we might start Kane ahead of DJ in this one and have minimal other changes. Personally I'd also sacrifice Max in order to bring Sprangler into the midfield for this one (even though I thought Max had a great game against Hibs). Levein's teams have been hard to predict though, so there's every chance he makes a couple of unexpected changes. Quote
Linky Posted December 20, 2023 Report Posted December 20, 2023 The best time to play the OF is when they've just had a cup final or a great night in Europe, because they're tired and not ready for the bump of coming back down to earth, playing against the likes of us. Quote

I have a feeling he'll go with the same starting line up and hope Kano can come on and grab a goal late on. Discipline is going to be the key in this game. We can't be giving Rangers free kicks around the box. Quote
Lt. Col Kojak Slaphead II Posted December 20, 2023 Report Posted December 20, 2023 From what I have heard from my usually 'very' reliable source, I would expect three changes to tonight's team from Saturday. Quote

However, it is difficult to avoid giving Rangers free kicks since referees are programmed to ensure they get advantages whenever necessary, ie when they are not winning!! As for us getting a penalty, if we do look up you are bound to see a few pigs flying past. pezza70 and lindz105 2 Quote
tucker Posted December 20, 2023 Report Posted December 20, 2023 Think considine, brown and kane possibly sprangler and think Gallacher,Fran will be rested with a few others Quote
johndb Posted December 20, 2023 Report Posted December 20, 2023 Last time I saw Saints play Rangers was in the sixties on a cold dark and wet night at Muirton. They gubbed us 4 nil. Still happy memories! Quote
Indicator Posted December 20, 2023 Report Posted December 20, 2023 No shirt tugging in our box lads. VAR will be looking for the slightest excuse. Quote

Two Cups 2021 Posted December 20, 2023 Report Posted December 20, 2023 Feigning injury. Hurdled the challenge and makes the most of the lunge. Quote
pezza70 Posted December 20, 2023 Report Posted December 20, 2023 I wonder if that would be a red if it was a Rangers player making the same lung as DJ? Quote
Indicator Posted December 20, 2023 Report Posted December 20, 2023 Was that a rhetorical question? Quote

Of course not. I thought DJ got his feet to the ball but the pace of the challenge and studs up playing Them at Castle Greyskull and you're guaranteed a red for Saints. I was a lot more annoyed with the bookings for Smith and Dan - neither of which seemed worthy of a yellow On the plus side Fran is having another decent game. pezza70 1 Quote
