Tattie-bogle Posted July 28, 2024 Report Posted July 28, 2024 Looking at it purely from a financial and hopefully a squad building budget perspective qualification is big, a favourable draw and or potentially picking up a TV game could equate to wages for some experience and quality. So while not all smooth sailing you do have to say; Avoid relegation last year....job done Qualification in league cup.....job done Not sure what else we can expect at this point. Personally I'm still a bit twitchy about the up coming season but as said above it is progress of sorts... We won't know how much until the clocks go back. The full schedule of prize monies for the Premier Sports Cup is set out below: Winners - £400,000 Runners-up - £200,000 Losing semi-finalists - £150,000 Losing quarter-finalists - £100,000 Second round losers - £60,000 First round group stage: Five worst runners-up - £36,000 Third position - £34,000 Fourth position - £32,000 Fifth position - £30,000 In addition, any club (home or away) taking part in a match selected for live broadcast by Premier Sports will receive a TV facility fee of £18,000 in the first round group stage, or £30,000 in the later rounds. RandomGuy Posted July 28, 2024 Report Posted July 28, 2024 FWIW Motherwell were booed off the park after the 0-0 draw with Partick, which sees them qualify, and a few of their fans seem to hate their manager too. A lot of similarities between the clubs recently but both have diverged on different paths. Quote

Be too late by then. I'm bad for it, so this criticism is of me too, but I still think Levein is suffering because of what came before in terms of fan opinion. Like people now see the back 5 and just automatically think of Davidson-ball, and act accordingly, when it's not going to be the same. If he nails the next few signings, we start the season well, and there's goals, then opinions will turn his way IMO. Quote

When we win, they say it was despite him, when we lose they say it was because of him. The fans have been through so much over the last few years, it’s hard to see any positivity. Even after Saturday, most posts here were complaints. I think he’s old fashioned, a bit boring in terms of style of play, but has an eye for a player. He’s also a good Saints fit: someone who has shown promise in the past and lost their way a bit Melbourne Saint 1 Quote
DaveMac Posted August 11, 2024 Report Posted August 11, 2024 He makes it easy to dislike him. Those comments are tone deaf at best, downright disrespectful to the feelings of the vast majority of supporters on the subject blueheaven 1 Quote
tucker Posted August 11, 2024 Report Posted August 11, 2024 I feel sorry for Sven. Leveins subs far too late team was knackered and absolute weird brought Clark and mcpake on to play in midfield rather than Sven. Why sign the lad up if you don't play him Treatment of Stevie as well Still hoping we get shot of Levein sooner rather than later Melbourne Saint, Nat King Goals, blueheaven and 2 others 3 1 1 Quote
SlickDT Posted August 12, 2024 Report Posted August 12, 2024 His signings are making a real difference. I think it's hard to be overly critical of his decision with May, when he has brought in a strikeforce which are scoring lots of goals regularly. mayseventeen, Melbourne Saint and R.B.B:- Adz 3 Quote

What would be an acceptable scoreline against the team that finished 6 places above us last year, 5-0? 6-0? McCarry One Nil, PerthSaint01 and Melbourne Saint 3 Quote

I'm really hoping his lack of minutes so far is a fitness thing. He brings so much more composure to our midfield and protection to our defence than MacPherson does. Graeme S and R.B.B:- Adz 2 Quote

I watched the under 21s which he captained in which he covered every blade of grass and was best man on the field. As far as I remember he was on the whole game. If Levein was watching I can't understand why Sven doesn't even get on as sub. Quote

Imagine - and hope - they kept him on the bench on Sunday with tonight in mind. Quote

Strange , is East Fife not artificial. Sven not being kept for tonight either. Risking a red card for Aaron, mind you he has only had one booking since his tackle against Brechin. Quote

garydavidson Posted August 31, 2024 Report Posted August 31, 2024 Linky is the soundboard for the pro Levein on here. If they turn then we will know it is bad. Quote
Cagey Posted August 31, 2024 Report Posted August 31, 2024 At least today he made 3 subs before the 88th minute. But no his negative tactics will take us down. When we did attack we had Well in a panic. Also the transfer window has been another disaster. Also freezing out a big chunk of his squad is unbelievable. Graeme S 1 Quote
