Will hopefully get a chance to catch up with the thread today but for now, I'm sorry it hasn't worked out for Levein as I liked so many of the signings. Sidibeh and Kimpioka are really exciting and Raymond as well. Essel will hopefully develop.

It's a shame he couldn't pull it all together but there are some good players there for a new manager.

The biggest disappointment for me is that I really thought that Levein would sort out and improve the defence. But that just didn't happen for me and the same mistakes kept happening time and time again.

Seen some odd rumours going around, some that Kirk and Levein fell out, others that Levein was in talks with Hearts about some sort of role there without telling anyone. Some suggesting that the two rumours are linked somehow.

That may be true, as yesterday morning he had done some media work in his usual bland, indifferent manner, prior to being unceremoniously dismissed, as if we had just discovered this alleged return/negotiation to/with Hearts.

He was useless anyway, just surprised it took so long.

Who are the strong candidates? Can’t read behind Courier paywall….

No names mentioned only no hurry imagine sifting process will start end of the week at the earliest

All this happening in what's probably the busiest week of my year.

I can't keep up.

To be honest, nearly everything that needs to be said has been said.

And every time I think of something, I keep reading and @blueheaven has already posted it.

Good work that man.

The correct decision was made, and it was going to happen, so best it happened as soon as possible.

From what's being said on here, it seems that it was more than just the on field performances as well.

So again, inevitable.

A bad appointment from day 1. Remember the first interview? And the next few after that?

Well done to the new owners for being bold and taking a proactive stance.

Bizarrely (genuinely) , just got this in my email from Sacked in the Morning:

Hi,

I hope you are well and don't mind me dropping you a line. You got in touch during the last run of Sacked in the Morning so I thought you would like a wee heads up on what we’re going to be asking on the new series. We start recording this Wednesday so it would be great to hear from you again.

We want to hear about your own personal sporting mishaps and injuries! Could be big or small, at the highest level of sport or tripping up while playing with your dog in the garden.

Excitingly for those that are read out on the podcast and impress us the most (actually probably impress Craig the most…he got very critical of some sporting achievements last series 😂) there will be a reward. For the first time we have Sacked in the Morning merch! More on that when we start to publish this run in October

thanks for listening.

best

james (the producer)

And my reply? Yes, I did:

Hi James,

Coincidentally just recently had a couple of sporting injuries - mild concussion and strained jaw. When Cregg got sacked (In the Afternoon no less, maybe time for a name change?), I jumped so high I cracked my head on the ceiling and spent the rest of the day smiling and laughing so much that my jaw was sore the next day.

Worst manager in St Johnstone history. Make way for The Return of The King.

Tommy Wright era was a total freak. Right man, right place, right time. Nothing revolutionary, nothing groundbreaking but worked every hour god gave and devoted it to building his worth as a manager. He managed to assemble a freak squad of likeminded players who just wanted to prove they were worthy of being a professional footballer, experience success and upset the apple cart as a collective force. Simply a thing of beauty!

My appreciation, admiration and overall respect for Tommy Wright stands tall about ALL previous St Johnstone managers in my life time but bringing him back is the wrong move.

Now you don't think that Paul Sturrock might have had something to do with it? the man that made them train in the afternoon, not be down the pub?

Levein on Sportsound today openly saying that he is disappointed that Hearts didn't win against Aberdeen. He obviously doesn't like them being below Saints in the league and that comment just proves where his loyalties always lay. I always thought that these so-called pundits were supposed to be neutral when covering a game on air?
