What about Stevie? He oversaw the cup double and then appointed Flaherty, stepped back, and allowed him and Davidson to set us on a downward spiral that has lasted for three seasons. I must admit to being conflicted over this with regard to his legacy. To go from one extreme almost to the other was avoidable and needless. Punch away 😊

Meet you outside that pub in airdrie any afternoon saints are playing at home🤪

Doesn't matter. A minor detail in a storied history of success and huge progression to a platform we have never known.... silverware and jaunts to Belarus!

OH TO BE A SAINTEE!

I think Steve Brown just lost interest, which is maybe fair enough as I'm not sure he ever actually wanted to run a football club (?), and that's when he started handing over the club to people who got it wrong as they also couldn't sell the club.

Ideally the current process of finding a buyer would've happened 3-4 years earlier.

Was thinking the same myself ,I’ve still not renewed my season ticket and I’m sure a lot are in the same boat till we here what our new illustrious leader has in store for our club .

But it’s the same old shit we’re getting told kept in the dark and telt nothing ,saints should be making this there number 1 priority when  the new owners do get announced .

Please keep the fans informed.

As this is the football fantasy season, I thought I'd indulge my fantasy.

Mr Webb as an astute lawyer, having seen what difference good and bad decisions make to the performance of the business has been ceaselessly following not only Saints but Scottish football while involved in the negotiations to purchase said Saints.

His conclusions are relatively simple.

The SPFL and their offspring UEFA badge training at Largs are still wedded solely to the 1960's standard Italian philosophy of defensive football.  As a result, the football on display has become so negative, fans cheer a forward pass.  Players are recruited not on ability but the way they follow backwards instructions.

I watched Scotland for about 20 minutes before I went back to wallpaper stripping as there was more excitement doing that.  Forward thinking dynamic players left on the bench for three potentially winnable games.  Many not even in the squad.

Across Europe, much has changed from tippy tappy Spanish football to the high press team like Austria.  The passion from players and fans have more in the stadia.

The solution:  If minnows like Georgia, Austria, Slovakia and others can play expansive football, featuring skillful players, others offering opportunities for forward passing, shooting even, Saints can be changed.

We need an infusion of foreign coaches whether from Portugal, Georgia who haven't learned at Largs to stifle ability.  These coaches would improve the youngsters coming through so Saints could compete within the top six regularly.

Mr Webb will be watching tomorrow night to see if Levein/Kirk saw the memo.  I hope change is coming.

Well Mr Webb will no doubt need one of his team permanently in Perth. I wouldn't be surprised if he buys another place, when he rarely comes over. The board will be interesting. I actually like the fact that he's been fairly quiet. Once the deal is signed, I think subtle changes and I'm sure there will be changes to the structure first...
