I really don't get these constant posts from people moaning about the guy not having said much yet. Not that it's something I've ever done before, but I reckon maybe buying an entire football club takes a bit of time? Do people seriously want the new owner making statements and announcements before the deal is actually concluded? Can just imagine how embarrassing it would be if the guy was out there promising X, Y and Z and getting the fans excited only for the deal to collapse. If anything I find it reassuring that he's pretty much stayed quiet so far. Ritspeed, Graeme S, PerthSaint01 and 3 others

When you see what Motherwell have, a guy posting on Pie and Bovril, writing a blog, and discussing things on Twitter, it makes me glad we don't have that. Webb has a history of sorts with running a football club, has been vetted by a professional company that specialise in changing owners, and has Geoff Browns seal of approval. If he'd come out and made promises about everything before it was all sealed and delivered it would've been a red flag for me. We badly need someone who's sensible and just comes in and runs us like a well functioning football club. Personally I think all we'd ever need to hear from the owner is their thoughts over the Summer about the previous/future season, and if something big happens during the season. blueheaven, Indicator, Willie Peat and 1 other

And the fact that he has already (and very quietly) bought a house in Perth would seem to confirm that he plans to be here fairly regularly and not just fly in from the States once or twice a year like some overseas owners. Two Cups 2021
Can't believe he has not been working quietly in the background already. Who has been approving recent signings? He's not gonna come in and say he doesn't approve of these signings, get rid.

Stan Harris has been running the club for 12 months+ and is likely still doing so. The papers all suggest he'll stay on for a while but be phased out over the course of this season as Webb puts his own stamp on things. It's been confirmed a while ago that Webb had already discussed budgets for this Summer window before it opened.

blueheaven
As a very first piece of business from the new owner I feel the Main Stand should be renamed the Geoff Brown Stand. It would be the perfect way to acknowledge everything Geoff has done for Saints and a good way to mark the passing of the torch from one to another. Very impressed with that opening statement from Adam Webb. Actually talking about growing the fanbase, which is something I feel the club gave up on quite a few years ago. And embracing the importance of social media and communication. If there's one thing that's been missing from the club's mindset over the years, it's that. And a resurfaced car park - praise be! 😀 Ritspeed, pezza70 and Willie Peat
RandomGuy
Webbs statement is a perfect mix of realism and ambition. Really liked how he isn't afraid to aim high but makes it clear he's willing to take time to get things right on the way there. As first real impressions go he's nailed it for me. pezza70, blueheaven, Willie Peat and 3 others

Kat71
A very good statement from Adam Webb, not over promising, but realistic goals and time frame. Onwards and upwards for Saints.
Cleveland-Saint
Promising message, no glitz or jazz, just outlining the grind ahead and the need to operate at a higher budget to propel upwards. As per early review, I remain of the belief that Geoff placed us in good pair of hands. Valakari oh oh

Ritspeed
I like, and am encouraged by, what I'm hearing so far (and also the silence before everything was signed, sealed and delivered). Very pragmatic. It does sound like he is in it for the long haul, will run the club in a methodical way and will take satisfaction in steady, sustainable growth of St Johnstone FC. Dooj
No mention of a new scoreboard 😡 Seriously, so far so good, feels like the right sorts of things to be saying but its early days. You can be pretty sure that the only things that will make fans happy is the performances on the pitch. If performances are poor then fans will find anything and everything to moan about, regardless of how good an owner he is.

pezza70
I wonder if he will hold a meet the owner night similar to meet the manager night so the rank and file supporters can have a talk to him first hand. The downside is after a few pints and the constructive advice from the supporters could see him run for the hills LAUGH OUT LOUD

I have already met with supporters once via Zoom and I look forward to doing so again in person.
