Think we’re now something like:

                                                                          Rae (Sinclair)

McClelland (Olufunwa)           Sanders (Olufunwa)        #1 (Parker?)

Wright (McPake)                                                                                                     #2 (Carey)

Smith (MacPherson)     Sprangler (Keltjens)      #3 (Carey)

                                          Sidebeh (Clark).             Ikpeazu (Kimpioka)

extra (off on loan?)

Ferguson, Max, Franczak

Leaving?:

May, C Smith

Not saying you’re wrong, but why do you think we’re moving from 5-3-2 to 4-4-2?

Also, isn’t McPake mainly a right winger?

McPake has played almost his whole career on the left cutting in onto his right foot.

I think his signing is a hint it'll be more back 4 than back 3.

Midfield still seems weighty on numbers but low on quality.

Would be stunned if Ferguson and Connor Smith aren't loaner out, then it leaves you space to sign better.

Haven't seen enough of any of our new signings to comment, but I definitely think we need to bring in two or three new players of considerable quality or we're going to be in for another very tough season.

I'm happy with the policy of bringing in younger players from the lower leagues who have potential to step up, but at the moment I also think we're lacking players around age 26-29 who have more experience and are closer to their peak, without being past it. I think one central midfielder and one central defender who fit that description are an absolute must as the bare minimum.

For comparison, here are the signings made so far by the other teams in our league: https://spfl.co.uk/news/scottish-premiership-transfers-summer-2024

Why the rush to get these two tied down on two-year deals? They look to be two players whose careers are heading in the wrong direction and would have thought taking the opportunity to look at them in the friendlies would have been a sensible approach.

If the manager wants to sign them after that then fair enough but we've jumped feet first into long-term deals where there is no evidence to suggest it's a smart approach.

There is far too much dross still in this squad.  I think we need to sign a LB, RB, 2 CB, 3MF, GK and a CF.

Lick boaby, right bastrad, 2 closet bandits, 3 mother fuqers, , good kunt and comeontae fuq .

are they what your abbreviations means . Look forward to the new signings .

Two years for McPake certainly surprised me. Especially when you consider that someone like Sprangler only got one year (unless that's all he was willing to sign up for, of course). I think one year, with a commitment to extend to two years if they achieve a certain number of appearances, would have probably made sense for these two new guys.

I hope the guys with 2 year contracts have big enough sell on clauses to prevent Aberdeen

 pinching them.

Should of been quality over quantity think keeper and forward will do a job but the other two aren't even good enough for the bench.

Liam Gordon and gowser had there off days but where at least good quality centre halves.

We need new back four with kiltjens and sprangler in  midfield for me

MacPherson is too injury prone to be first choice

Lot of bedwetting going on here. We've signed two youngish players on cheap contracts, and the manager has obviously seen some potential there. They will bulk out the squad and allow us to spend more money on the first team.

Taylor & Parker just signed new contracts

That's good. Hopefully they push on.

Those still in red at the end of today can go now but hopefully Phillips has been offered a contract so we get compensation.

Good news with Taylor getting a 2 year deal. The hope is the two new signings this week are for squad depth and to avoid having to play our U21s in the League Cup if we don't get our main targets in. Otherwise, yeah, they're quite underwhelming on paper.

May be wrong, but I wonder if Keltjens is more of a RB back up, but a starter in centre midfield alongside Sprangler. Also wonder if Sanders and McClellan are going to fight for that right sided CB, with Parker back up for a new left sided CB.

Also, I think Ikpeazu has been signed to feed Sidibeh, so will start.

I think we'd be looking at C. Smith and May leaving. Perhaps Max and Ferguson on loan.

Right back, left sided centre back, left back to come in
