Not having a replacement already signed I agree is a worry but I think to get better as a team we had to part ways.

It's all optics and the first part is important, on top of the last week.

The summer started alright with a different option to complete our attacking quota and then a solid goalkeeping option with potential.

But the last week has been a gut punch. The guy that kept us up last season heading to a team in our league for around £200,000, two VERY unwhelming signings and then our captain preferring a sideways move to a rival.

On top of that, it appears that a major target that would have improved us and boosted morale has gone elsewhere, when his name had already leaked out to whet the appetite.

We could really do with a boost right now.

Would love to hear the new owners come out and talk about their vision and gets a bit of excitement and buzz around the place.

Loosing Mitov is a massive blow, loosing our skipper and I presume Phillips is leaving us very very thin across the park.

Will we have the budget to bring 3 or 4 more, who knows?

Here is some more misery, rumours of Adama Sidibeh to Hull 😐

I was very concerned about this summer with the numbers we had to replace and its looking like it is going to be a long long season unless something magical happens quickly.

Optics hard to argue with, hopefully the club has something up their sleeve. Worry though that we may get a sticking plaster signing and then some loan scrambling near the end of the window when everyone else has taken their picks. Hopefully Levein's experience means this is not what happens (there has to be some upside to him!).

Long-term though I think we, and Liam, are better off for him leaving.

We are OK Ikpeazu has already been brought in as his replacement. Hope the sell on clause is more the £50 k.

Still wondering whether until the new owners are 100% confirmed, there is no budget, so Levein is signing the cheap back up players now, whilst he can, and waiting on the budget to sign the first-team players needed. Perhaps that's why we lost out on the player that was rumoured to come to us, he couldn't wait any longer for us.

They've been going for about a month.

His agent at Warrington Rylands, before he joined us, had him linked with a different club every week by the looks of it. I'd guess we'll see this regularly until he does regardless of how real the links are.

It's because a Bundesliga club offered him a contract, not because we couldn't afford him.

I still maintain Adama will start the season with saints. His agent can hawk him about teams down south all he likes, but he's got 2 years left on his deal and lets face it had a purple patch of 2 months, that's not extensive enough for Championship teams to pay 7 figures out. More realistically they'll monitor what he does for the next 6 months, whether he improves and develops further and then those struggling and after goals will then potentially try and bring him in the January window, where fees do tend to be higher. Ideally he's scored 15+ goals by then and we're sitting 20 points clear of the relegation zone and there's no issues selling him! But that's not going to happen.

Who was the player rumoured to be coming to us

Yeah I doubt Sidibeh will leave us this summer. His agents been linking him with clubs since the summer started and yet no clubs have bidded yet. Clubs will be aware he was only scoring for 2 months and will be preparing for a January bid more than anything. Just hopefully by then we'll have a decent amount of points.

I would imagine Aberdeen pay their backroom staff greater wages than we can so it is no surprise that Hinchcliffe has decided to move to them.

Sure that if other companies came in for any fan in their employment offering more money then they would consider it and probably move.

That's life and we move on

Why do guys want Gordon who struggled last Scotland game massively and haring who's not kicked a ball in past year due to injuries

These are just the names I’ve heard flying around. But, also, the idea that Gordon can’t do a job for a club who finished 10th in the league because his last international game wasn’t so good is ridiculous.

Have I missed something about Craig Gordon? He has a year left on his Hearts contract, why would he be moving?

Correct. But it is interesting that Hearts signed another goalkeeper this week - Ryan Fulton from Hamilton Accies.

I think people are connecting the dots: Hearts sign another reserve ‘keeper, our GK coach moves on, Levein and Gordon working together before, number 1 shirt still being available

At some point we need to stop messing around and announce Craig Gordon, Barry Douglas, Stuart Armstrong, Peter Haring and a centre back of some sort.

😂Gordon will not be coming to us, Douglas is finished, Armstrong is a cracker😂you don’t think he will have better options than us?  Haring is highly likely and there was interest from us in Jan.  He will be the new captain imo.
