It can't be players he signed or gave contracts to so is it May and Clark ?.

Both would be on decent wages. I don't have a clue... But after the Alexander fiasco, I lost faith in May. Alexander should be banned. I reckon May off the books. Probably Clark. For those that criticise CL, he's grim and grumpy, but he kept us up. His signings seem to be good. Now for midfield... We need a couple...

What Levein's saying about not being able to sign anyone until players leave just doesn't add up. 15 players have left (among them several high earners including our captain, plus the fee we've been paid for Mitov) and six players have arrived (several of whom I'd say are cheap punts taken in the hope that they'll pay off in future). And yet we're told the budget has increased?

If what Levein's saying is truthful (and I have my doubts), then it suggests a bit of a mess has been made of the summer planning. Our squad looks too big already and yet we're still seriously short of quality in several areas. We're heading towards another season of expensive players sitting in the stand because they're not in the manager's plans. Who'll be this season's Ali Crawford?

I think the budget has been severely cut this season. Are we also still paying wages to MacLean, Craig and Davidson after the sackings? When Webb says he's raised it, I imagine that's still not up to the levels of the last few seasons.

I imagine any further budget will come after we know we're through to the next round of the cup.

Tbf he says that "we're getting to the stage where it's ones out to come in", he doesn't say we're at it yet. I imagine we'll see one more signing in defence, or on the right side behind the main striker (where Smith and May played last week) before players start leaving.

I imagine it will be some loans for the youngsters, with perhaps Smith going out (May at a push). I would say all the others are in the manager's plans.

In terms of the budget, maybe, and I have no idea about this, he may be keeping some of it back to pay signing on fees, agent bonuses and the like, to a couple of big name signings that will hopefully arrive nearer the end of the window.

He may have a few things cooking, but they're waiting in case they get a better deal?

I've no idea, just another possibility.

From what I have read on a variety of sites, the answer is McPake, who appears to be a journeyman, and not a very good one at that.

McPake is 22 years old and has been at 2 clubs before us (not including numerous loans, which happen to every OF youngster). To suggest he's a journeyman is ridiculous

He might not be a journeyman but he's not been good anywhere. The Stirling Albion fans don't exactly sing his praises but he manages a two year deal with us on the strength of his training.

Levein saying players out before players in now

That cannot be right. Financial advice must be coming from Rodney Trotter. We have fredd up sooooo many wages and brought in a few. Are we offering the new guys 8k a week or something? Doesn't seem accurate. Worrying if true.
