With Ikpeazu injured and maybe Clark it will be interesting if Kirk makes the team /squad ahead of May.

Unfortunately May is finished at this level yes he works hard but the cold hard facts are he doesn’t score enough goals Kirk may give us something different I for one will be giving him a chance before passing judgement

Have we by chance (and I missed it) joined a reserve or Lowland league so these youngsters he's brought in will have the opportunity to have some game time, learn their trade.  Will they turn out any better than our own if, like them, they get so few opportunities.

We can only hope there is a Yammel or Mainoo amongst them.

No mention of May in in post match interview when Levein was discussing forwards.

He was just left out by the sounds of it.

They must be trying to persuade him to leave.

We have a track record of not treating our legends properly so I hope not.  Kirk is nowhere near ready for Premier football and this is nepotism of the first order.

Gee it must be great to be able to ascertain that a player is not ready for premier football after 15 minutes of action. I think the point you were trying to make (badly) was that we should not have signed Andy Kirks son. For god sake give the lad at least 30 minutes before you start slagging him off.

Someone summarising on whether Swansea made and will make another bid?

Every man and yer dug knows they made a derisory offer. Who actually gives a **** until they make the RIGHT offer?

I didn't realise Raymond was about to sign for Braga, who finished 4th in the Portuguese Premiership last year, and are in the Europa League, before problems with his visa meant he was arrested and sent home

Also Essel saying he was about to sign for Club Brugge but his club in Africa was asking for too high a fee. Makes me wonder how much they were asking for at the time, if Brugge weren't willing to pay it, and how much they ended up accepting from Saints. From what Essel says in the interview it sounds like the deal's mainly built around a good sell-on fee.

May away to Raith. I’ve heard Sinclair going out on loan. But are we still looking for a number 1. None of our keepers have that number so are we going to

St Johnstone boss Craig Levein gives new goalkeeper update and confirms coaching arrival

Josh Rae is the current Perth number one.

Craig Levein hasn't decided yet whether to bring in an experienced goalkeeper to challenge Josh Rae.

St Johnstone manager, Craig Levein, has admitted that one of the biggest dilemmas he has left for his summer squad rebuild is whether to go back into the transfer market for another goalkeeper.

Josh Rae hasn’t put a foot wrong since arriving from Airdrie,Levein will be hoping the trend of him not being greatly tested in the Premier Sports Cup will continue when two from two Saints travel to Alloa on Tuesday night.

But the Perth boss, who has brought Ryan Esson to the club as an interim goalkeeping coach, knows that he lacks an experienced option between the posts, with Rae and Ross Sinclair both 23 and next in line, Craig Hepburn, only 19. “I was speaking about it to Ryan today,”said Levein.

“I’ve been pleased with Josh,He made a couple of really good saves at Arbroath (a pre-season friendly) and there’s been nothing negative in either of our cup games since,he can only deal with what presents itself in a game"

“I’ve still got the thought in my head that we might need another, more experienced goalkeeper,we’re looking at that currently. When that cut-off point comes to make a decision, I don’t know.Josh is playing for his place but he’s in the driving seat at the moment.”

Levein added: We’ve got two other goalkeepers who are young.

There’s more to it than who is going to be good enough to play for our first team. Ross hasn’t had a lot of football and Heppy has had a bit at Cowdenbeath.

“Ross got game-time up north in pre-season but now we’re into the competitive stuff, Josh will remain in goals.

“It was the safer choice with Ross not having played much over the last couple of years. If we decide to go with what we’ve got, Josh gets an injury and one of those guys goes in, it could easily happen that the pressure would be too much, then we’d be in a right hole.

"You also have to factor in whether any of them need to go out on loan if they’re not first choice, there are a lot of questions. Once I make the call about whether we bring a more experienced goalkeeper in, things will start to happen from there.”

Injury update

Captain, Kyle Cameron, will miss the Alloa game but fellow centre-half, Sam McClelland, will be available.

“Sam is feeling better,he was really struggling before Saturday’s game and in the warm-up,he’ll be involved tomorrow"

“Kyle will probably be the weekend. He’s improving but we won’t take any chances (with his tight thigh).

Gee Ross must be wondering if his time will ever come after he had that injury last season

The fact we brought in Rae it looked he would be fighting it out with Sinclair. Surely half a game up north wasn't enough to convince them that Sinclair wasn't good enough.

Personally I think it could be that they think he is still liable to sustain wrist/arm injuries.

I like CL's transfers so far... Right age and ability. Essell will no doubt be sold on, as will Sibede. After a full season. Fair enough... As long as we don't do a McCann. Essell will probably end up at one of the ugly sisters. He's an absolute diamond signing...I think 2-3 more signings and we have CL's squad. Just wondering who's scouting them, or is it agents hawking them?
