12 tickets left in GB stand and 74 in the east stand. Hopefully they get sold, my seat in the east stand will be empty as I won’t make it up due to not finishing work until 7pm.

I'd imagine quite a number of season ticket holders won't make it so the figures aren't quite accurate. Still a great effort though, hope we get the result a turnout like this deserves.

Why is the stadium being sold out.

Is it because the fans want to  honour Geoff.

Is it because Saints fans have noted the big win and want to see the new attack minded Saints.

Or have Saints fans been getting tickets for Dons fans.

I'm struggling to think of any previous opening league game that has felt more significant or important for Saints. Huge crowd, live on Sky, Geoff Brown celebration, new owner out on the pitch talking to the fans, lots of new players making their league debuts, Mitov coming back here to play against us, and of course the amount of pressure that is already on the manager.

Feeling excited but also a bit nervous for this one. Feel it's really important in so many ways that we get some sort of result from this. The players need to get through it without their confidence taking a dent, the prospective new fans need to see some sort of exciting display to draw them back, Adam Webb will be desperate for the night to be a success and Levein needs to get us off to a good start and try to keep the fans off his back.

It's a real opportunity for Levein to make a statement of intent.

A chance to get in the top half. If we start well the confidence will be sky high. Fingers crossed. Even 2 goals and a draw would be like a win today. We have to be positive today, nothing to lose.

From what I can see, the record McDiarmid Park attendance for a first league game of the season is 7,784 against Dundee Utd in August 1990. Looks like we're on course to smash that.

For comparison, we had 9,106 against Galatasaray and 8,845 against LASK.

I imagine Levein will go with three at the back tonight, due to Raymond's absence.

So a back 3 of McClelland central and Cameron on the left, with either Neilson or Sanders on the right.

I don't like the thought of Keltjens moving over to the left wing back role, but the manager might feel that's the way to go. Not for me, and I'd put Carey in there with Drey on the right.

I'm not sure who's fit and available in midfield, so if MacPherson and Sprangler can't make it, Matty Smith, Essel and maybe Keltjens staying back in his natural defensive midfield position will make up the three?

Adama and Benji up front of course. Hopefully Sidibeh will be subbed this time, if he starts to tire around the 60 minutes mark as usual.

This becomes a kind of 3-1-4-2.

Typically we miss a set piece and gift Aberdeen a free header. They battered us for a good 25 minutes but we have had a few half chances - still not creating anything from the midfield.

It's the service (or lack of it) to Benji and Sid which is the issue.
