Really hope Saints don't go down this route. I'm not in favour of B-teams in the lower leagues at all, and feel it shouldn't be allowed.

I'd much rather see Saints reconsider their decision not to enter the reserve league.

I think it's good. Giving youngsters a taste to develop... Can't see anything wrong with the comp. Go on loan? They develop team spirit and learn... Please explain your diatribe and distress...

Last nights game demonstrated the difference between a team who play and train together regularly versus a "B" team put together for this competition. East Fife knew how to get a result whereas our lads didnt gel and a few stray passes and poor communication led to lost opportunities.

We came out the blocks well and looked great for the first 20 minutes or so. Gradually East Fife came more into it and you could see where this was going to end up.

Franczak has some engine on him, tearing up and down the park, just missing that bit of quality at the end of the run. Parker was pretty solid but he needs to add aggression to his game. His passing is superb but not the finished article. Cocks also has potential but still a bit raw. He will come good over time. Kirk has that striker instinct and will always look for the shot. I like that in a striker, not afraid to shoot. A wee mention for Thomson our sub keeper who played 2nd half. Took 20 minutes to settle into the game, sadly cost us the game but he grew into the 2nd half and made some good stops.

It's a shame we are out as that reduces game time for those lads as a team.

Would a B team in the Lowland League work. Only if our better prospects were loaned to clubs in the Championship or League 1. Lowland League wont help them. Also I would rather it was the old style official reserve league against fellow league clubs than Lowland but that cost would be too high.

Colt teams shouldn't be in the Lowland League.

The pyramid was created so teams could rise up through achievements on the park, not so top flight sides could just chuck their reserves into the 5th tier and block the progress of clubs below that.

This is how I feel too. B-teams completely devalue the leagues they're in and it should never have been allowed.

100% this

Jeanfield Swifts are top of East Premier just now, I ve watched 3 or their first 4 games and they re excellent value for the £8 admission.

They ve been top end of league last few seasons, IF they can win league, then navigate through play offs against West of Scotland league winners and South of Scotland league winners to get promotion, they deserve something better than a collection of B teams that have bought the way there. Having two is bad enough without more.

It’s very hard to win your way into Lowland league when only one out of three league winners go up.
