Not condoning in any way what MacPherson tweeted but if Cup Tie, Muzz or Spoony tweeted the same crap, would they have got the same reaction....

We'll never know. And hopefully the players have learned a lesson and we never need to find out if any of our future Muzz and Spoony's are that way inclined.

We will never know, partly as they were in general better professionals.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion however, a big part of that is keeping opinions, if not to yourself, certainly out of the public domain where they can impact on your employer. This goes for whatever 'side' of any fence you may sit.

Most employers likely will want to take a stance of impartiality and this goes even more for something like a football club who want to simply attract people, who will naturally have different views.

It certainly doesn't help that the person has not contributed in any way to this club other than post shite in a public forum.

Personally as someone who lost someone very close to me through COVID and witnessed that first hand I found the COVID tweets more distasteful. I let that slide and just stopped following at the time as I realise it's probably a bit of a touchy subject for me.

However

Being useless...strike one

Anti Vax stuff....strike two

This latest pish....strike three

Mods - is it not worth opening the chat again about Cammy, given Saints have now released a statement finally, what’s Weareperth about if we can’t discuss the biggest story of today.

I agree with @Strawman here.

This is the thread for today's game. However, we've lost all the discussion of it because people, rightly, have views on the week's biggest story, but have no place else to post their views.

Can we reopen the original thread please?

Thank you! 👍

Last season showed every team can have off days.  So many on this site were happy that County’s game in hand was against Rangers.  That didn’t work out well for us.

I reiterate, we need to be positive so prevent others imposing themselves upon us.  Let’s use the strength (I know it’s strange to say) of our attack to prevent the overlaps, crosses by forcing Kilmarnock to focus more on defence.  It will relieve the pressure on our untried defence..

Round pegs in round holes, two up front.

Posting this here as well, in the hopes our American overlords see it

Well. That's the straw that broke the camels back.

My saint TV subscription is hanging on by a life line. Only as it's pennies and convenient to turn off and walk away.

However not one more penny through turnstile or retail will be spent by me towards the club this season. Not much but I was going to get a kit and a couple training tops.

To be fair I probably would be close to that decision based on football ability alone from the individual

Avril can now get to **** as well.

Dont think its just down to Levein - the club could and should have suspended him for at least this game - given everything else thats gone on this week theres no way Macpherson will be mentally prepared to play.

Add to that the impact this may have on his teammates/moral. I guess we don't know what actual punishments been dealt behind. Just feels like it's Levein being stubborn and not thinking clearly

Poor decision by the management team here.

I can't get where they find a positive from starting MacPherson.

If they're thinking of the team, this adds unnecessary pressure.

If they're thinking of the player, this puts him in the firing line.

If they're thinking of the fans, this seems to be a big two fingered salute to the large section who were offended by his actions.

If they're determined to keep him as a part of the playing squad, the smart thing to do would have been to either put him on the bench or not have him in the squad at all for a while, in the hope things would have calmed down a bit after a period of time.

Or of course, the even smarter thing would have been to loan him out or get him a move, which would have suited both club and player in the long run.

Also, as Random pointed out above, no Sprangler and especially Carey seems like a very odd decision to me.
