I stumbled across this and thought I'd share it here in case you were interested.

It's Levein's press conference after the game. It's actually good to see him raging like this because at least he's showing some passion. Too often his laid back manner can look like he doesn't care.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Collum has a history of bad decisions. He should be suspended for the season. The SFA is benign to the ugly sisters... Levien should not be fined, but he will be. I'm absolutely f-offed. Let's hope we take it out on DUFC. A lot of frustration...

These games against the OF have been an accident waiting to happen for years, not just at away games but at McDiarmid as well. I'm amazed we haven't had similar happen at McDiarmid yet, with the way the OF fans hang around outside the ground so that home fans have to walk through them both before and after games. There's always a nasty atmosphere and it's no wonder people don't want to go. I'd like to see Saints work with the police to make sure visiting OF fans are kept to their own area of the park, upon their arrival, and possibly also held back after games to allow home fans out first. I've seen this done as standard at games I've been to abroad - but of course in our situation it all becomes more complicated by the sheer volume of the stadium that we often hand over to them.

It was interesting to hear Adam Webb speak about the OF ticketing situation at the recent fans forum, as he seemed to have been well briefed on all these issues and had an understanding of the reasons why a lot of Saints fans stay away from these games. In light of what happened on Saturday, it'll be really interesting to see how we handle ticketing for this season's OF games. I'm not in favour of banning their fans completely as some have suggested, but clearly there needs to be some sort of review of what we do.

Full ban probably not going to happen for a number of reasons. But no way does this get to pass by with no changes to how our games operate when they visit.

Celtic fans over the weekend have been quick to plead innocence when what happened on Saturday is used to point out we're fed up of Old Firm fans' behaviour in general but they don't get a pass either.

To be fair to Rangers fans (🤮) I have seen very few condoning Saturday's nonsense, if anything they're just as wound up as most fans across Scotland. Even seen serious suggestions of UB being asked to stay away from Hampden/Ibrox (although it seems a few are still reeling from having their longtime seats give  to UB members).

SFA is at a crossroads here. If this is seen to be allowed it will further embolden these groups. Not enough to arrest 3 folk, they're just part of a bigger problem we've all known about for years.

Really hope Bev doesn't chuck it, she seems to love the role and is excellent at it. Fans across Scotland need people like her more than we need this UB ultras p*sh.

The replies to this, despite a lot of the examples given being behaviour of Celtic fans, tells a story.

Aye saw a lot of that over the weekend. They genuinely don't recognise they get away with behaviour that is not tolerated for any other group of fans.

Most other clubs would have acted years ago (indeed Saints did with FCU...probably went overboard to begin with to be honest) but the Old Firm pander to these groups and SFA aren't interested as they pander to the Old Firm.

Do Rangers deduct the cost of hiring Hampden before splitting the revenue. I wouldn't be surprised.

No, because that's their responsibility and bundled in with all other costs a home side would normally have, utilities, staff etc.

I'm sure somebody said that they need thirty one thousand at a game to break even, so they'll have encountered a loss with this one. Again though, that doesn't affect the amount we receive.

We'll get our share of the net profit, although I've no doubt that won't be as much as hoped, considering the low attendance.

Saints meeting with SFA this afternoon to discuss.

Nothing will happen but at least Saints are not meekly bending down to be shafted.

Rangers v St Johnstone ref Matthew MacDermid CLEARED by SFA after audio review of cup controversy

The SFA have backed Matthew MacDermid’s handling of the controversial opening goal for Rangers in Saturday’s Premier Sports Cup clash with St Johnstone.

Head of refereeing Willie Collum has reviewed the audio recording before and after Cyriel Dessers put the Ibrox side into the lead as Saints players felt MacDermid had stopped the game to award a foul for them.

MacDermid did chalk off the goal, which was later allowed to stand after VAR got involved.

But Courier Sport understands Collum is satisfied the Hampden Park referee whistled AFTER the ball crossed the line and not before.

Kyle Cameron and Matt Smith were among a number of Perth men who thought they heard different.

But Monday’s SFA review is likely to be the end of the issue, despite the fact MacDermid put his whistle to his lips and gestured for a free-kick after Dessers and Jack Sanders came together in the Saints penalty box.

The rules state that a whistle is the only official sign that play has been halted and, as such, the protocols have been adhered to.

Saints were also dismayed that VAR official, Greg Aitken, didn’t send MacDermid to his pitch-side monitor after Adama Sidibeh hit the ground following a Dessers challenge in the Rangers six-yard box in injury-time.

The SFA has found no fault on that front either, it is understood.

Shock

If he didn't blow his whistle then maybe by the letter of the rule book he got it right, but to not even acknowledge that clearly raising his arm and putting his whistle to his mouth was very poor refereeing and misleading to the players is incredible.

Are players to now ignore the play-on arm gestures of the referee?  No whistle is blown then.  Arm gestures mean nothing apparently.

One set of rules for the old firm, one for everyone else as usual.
