Havana Saint
13 hours ago, Gekko said: What a mess Levein has left us in. A more useless performance it would be difficult to imagine. Kirk has also proved over the last couple of games, that he's just as culpable of making unfathomable and crazy decisions as his old boss was. The only positive about tonight, is that this is hopefully the last time we have to endure anything from this regime, and we can now thankfully punt this era into the past. We started well, but fell apart when they scored. It didn't help when Cameron went off. Nobody seemed to step up and take charge. Every time they went up the pitch, you were just waiting for them to score. Yes, they're miles ahead of us, but our own mistakes once again cost us. There's no point in singling out individuals, because we were all over the place. Results went our way today thankfully, so we haven't lost any ground. So if it is Lynch, as it seems to be, let's get him and his crew in as soon as possible. I've rarely witnessed a team, more desperately needing guidance than this one. Was managing in the Highland League recently, maybe some sort of long term strategy here? No idea why he is still here.
blueheaven
1 hour ago, SlickDT said: I can't get my head around how he decided that using a big chunk of our budget on Ikpeazu was good idea, when we had 4 strikers at the club and obviously behind closed doors had been wanting to bring Kirk in. This, this, a million times this! I've been saying the exact same thing on here for months and had people telling me I was wrong and I think someone on here even called it "brilliant management" or words to that effect. Levein's transfer policy has been an absolute disaster and he's left behind a mess even worse than the one he inherited. Andy Kirk is significantly culpable for the state we're in too and needs to be removed immediately. Who could ever have preducted that putting a pair of Highland League no-hopers in charge of a Premiership club might not turn out too well? rik2304
I get the signing of Ikpeazu. All the front men are different so offer different options. But what's the point in building an interesting attack if you neglect the other parts.

The last two games have shown that he is as bad as Levein, maybe Kirk made a lot of decisions before. Don't know why Webb didn't talk to someone at the club to be told that Clelland , Danny etc did a good job over a game and half before Levein put his mark on the team. No guarantee they could have done the same again as this team is even worse than last seasons but just don't get keeping Kirk. garydavidson
Thundercat
14 hours ago, Kinnoull Kicker said: Men against boys. Central defence utterly useless GK - no blame tonight but inexperienced and playing behind this defence will damage him. Criminal that Levein /Kirk were complicit in this. Keltjens - why on earth was he not on from the off Although technically inferior there is no excuse for lack of pressing / tackling 90 mins - no outball Kirk - believes he has the experience and skill set to manage at this level…..WHAT?? McPake - no pace, no skill…….nothing…..yet he is on bench and on field while young more talented players banished to Ireland and elsewhere. Disgraceful. New manager must be allowed to bring in new coaching staff…time for a proper clear out. Funds must be made available to strengthen from out of contract options and in January Celtic - no Scottish team anywhere near them and the gulf will just keep growing.Playing third rate teams week in week out not the best prep if they are to succeed in Europe. our season will not be defined by games against the OF…..but fear that this squad is poorest in league ( albeit with a few decent performers) and unless somehow we can keep in the relegation mix until end year and Webb has a cunning plan…..relegation will happen. The thing that papered the cracks on these shitbags was the fact that Sidebeh and Kimpiola scored goals and were made to run they were Duracell batteries and as long as Levein had that he was given licence to buy any shit because those two made everything look good. Now they are not there you suddenly see how shit all his players are. Look through the games and see how deep kimpiola was dropping to create and start his own runs. Anyone wondering why Sidebeh annd his agent want out and cash in. He was basically treated like a modern day xxxve on low wages but propping the club up, while Levein tried to replicate that. It messed up when he went away from the formula and started to being in dross from Scottish teams who didn’t work hard and then got rid of the St Johnstone players who were working hard, so now left with runt while Kinmpy and Siddy are out. Going forward you know what needs to happen. Get rid of the dross. Get pacy hard working guys (it not difficulty to know what pacy means) let the ****ers settle before the fans start having a go at there own players because they have won some games against lowland league and lower league clubs because if preseason is you barometer you don’t **** about football. CL has left a mess because he and Kirk have tried to blend pacy hardworking with local ‘who’s got talent’. Way ****ing off the mark. crieffsaintandy

In a way, I'm kind of glad that Kirk was kept on, because now there can be no doubt that he was part of the problem. If he'd gone straight away, some people would have claimed that we should have kept him because it was all Levein's fault etc. Now we know for sure that he's equally, if not even more to blame for the last year. Cagey
Couple of new Celtic signings saying the support of the crowd was amazing. Considering they had 3/4 of the crowd it is not surprising. No matter what the club do regarding allocation to OF we will be heavily outnumbered. Huge advantage to them and support was probably louder than at. Parkhesd. There were lots of ST holders missing but they have paid their money and if they would rather stay at home than watch their team get gubbed it's up to them. Same with casual Saints fans , is there many that are not diehards that are going to pay £33 to watch what we all knew we were going to see. I think Adam Webb was hoping Saints fans w old turn up after his appeal or threat to give OF 3 stands if they didn't. Would imagine it would be 3 stands and possibly a third of main for OF for rest of season.
blueheaven
It's been indicated that more is going to happen to try to make these games more appealing for home fans and I think the club needs to see that project through. But if, at the end of it all, our home crowds are still really low, I personally think we might as well just go back to giving them the East Stand and milk the financial opportunities these games bring. I normally sit in a group of seven people at home matches, all of whom are season ticket holders. On Saturday only one of those seven was there (and it wasn't me!). Seems to me that's being replicated in groups of regulars across the stadium each time these teams come to town, especially when the kick-off times are crap. I'm just not sure what the club can do to turn that around. Does anyone know if the experiment of opening the Muirton Suite early was a success? Has it changed much in there? rik2304
The only thing worth trying is to limit them to the away stand only to see if that FU can attract home fans back.
sixties saintee
That is why the club and Police need tae take action AGAINST any Of fans in designated Saints area. Or there willbe less and less hame fans attending.

Dooj
It's not just about what happens in the stadium though. Its the crap getting to and from the ground that puts me off, just as much as the behaviour during the game.
sideline
Watching the first half hour of Dortmund v Celtic, I think it was extremely generous of us to give Celtic a loan of our central defenders for tonight’s game. So many similarities between the goals conceded and those we presented to them on Saturday. dave mc
Gekko
Schmeichel also looks a bit shaky when put under pressure. It just goes to show that they get away with a lot in this league because nobody's willing to give it a go. Obviously, I realise there's a big difference between Celtic's opponents tonight and the rest of us in the Premiership, but still. Really like the way Dortmund play. My kind of football. Gekko
Imagine shipping 6! My normally loud Celtic buddies on social media are shockingly quiet tonight. It's the BBC not the Celtic View. It should never be that biased. Amy Canavan should be in front of the bosses for that. Awful stuff. There's no way the Beeb, and the rest of the old firm loving media will round on Celtic like they did on us. They're already supporting the narrative that Rodgers is spouting, about how they can't match that level of team because of their lack of resources compared to them. Now they know what it feels like.
