Oh for Mitov in goal

We are never going to get another Mitov.

Don't think Sinclair could be blamed for any of the goals , maybe the second was a bit suspect but Raymond let Cerney run off him and Neilson played him onside which he has done all season , plus he never put a block in.

Hopefully Marshall will iron out any problems in Sinclairs keeping.

I mostly agree with the majority of the posts on this one.

My main points were that while Sinclair certainly seems to be getting better, he’s still a fair bit off the standard that we need.

For me, he could’ve gotten down quicker for the second.

He’s certainly growing as a keeper, but he should be doing that on loan.

On the same subject, I feel for Josh Rae. He could be still playing at Airdrie, getting all the experience that he needs. Instead, we’ve got him here on the bench.

I know he wanted Gordon. But even if that failed, we’d have had a young number one, plus a backup.

Then we wouldn’t have an unnecessary extra wage on the books and Rae could be getting on with his career.

Why Levein bought a keeper who was of similar age, ability and experience I’ll never know.

Sanders can’t do fancy passing, he needs to be a basic centre half. He was better at Ibrox, but again, only at the simple stuff.

I just don’t rate Neilson at centre back. The best game he’s had was at Hampden and that was as a defensive midfielder.

Sprangler had another shaky game. As has been mentioned, he’s never been the same since his injury.

Wright is quite simply, not a defender. Not a right back, not a right wing back, none of them.

He’s a winger, an attacking midfielder, whatever you want to call it, but play him where he’s strongest and keep him away from defensive duties.

Hopefully, Simo has sussed all this out.

We had good pace in the counter attack, and it showed how much we’d missed Kimpioka and Sidibeh.

Adama needs to calm it though. He’s just back and that tackle on Souttar was unnecessary and could’ve got him booked.

Kirk is a raw diamond and I’m glad we’ve signed him. You can tell his potential with his pace and positivity, but the selfishness showed he’s still got a bit to go.

He tracks back well and works hard all game. I’m surprised Hearts let him go.

It was a good match for Simo to see the team live for the first time.
We showed our potential and plenty of our weaknesses.

He should have more of an idea of what he needs to do after that.

Watched the game, and don't bother trying to find perfection.

What i saw was a fairly disciplined performance, going 1 down to a very good goal.

We got up the park (often something lacking v OF)

We were lucky in a few situations.

Once two down, we played with some amount of freedom and the game opened up.

I'd imagine if you asked the players: Did you enjoy that game they'd say yes. Scoreline aside.

Oh and so beautiful to have one of their players get a red - we seem to always go a man down v OF!

Because you can trust him to work hard defensively and not get sent off.

Sidibeh played 45 minutes and was already looking knackered and reckless.

Goals are important though right? Kirk looks better when somebody physical has broken the opponents back line. Sidebeh does that much work in the space that he occupies no?

I felt Kirk was more dangerous and created the better opportunities than Sidebeh.

So maybe offload Sidebeh in Jan window, keep Kirk, as we should have enough strikers to keep the goals coming in. Or maybe use Sidebeh as a sub  striker as he is just a winging gutless wonder who is lazy.
Personally I think he needs therapy after being run into the ground with absolutely no rest by the previous dynamic duo after coming from non league and he is gutless after his head went. Hopefully once Kirk senior has gone and order and sensibility is back we might see Kirk and Kimpioka employed in a front three wide running of sidebeh’s flick ons when needed or running at the defence to create assists for Sidibeh who given the right service will occupy defenders and create opportunities for the other two

Strikers need backing and I’d rather nurture sidebeh back from trauma than punt all my money on a young striker who just almost most scores on so many occasions. Please don’t count the preseason or B games or under 23 international as proof of being able to do the business ahead of Sidibeh. I’m sure he will come good right now in the Champ

If the see Sidibeh as a liability due to how reckless he's being I'm his tackling then it doesn't matter how good he is, you can't afford to go a man down often in this league and hes seeming more likely to be sent off than score recently.

SJ comes across as a manager who will have his arm around the player to build them up but has the steel to deliver the truth when the player needs it.  How to use the opponents taunting to your advantage, focus on the stuff which exposes them not rise to it.

We'll never know if some of the frustrations were as a result of being played incorrectly or over trying so not to go on the naughty list.  Proper coaching could achieve so much.

Feels to me like we've had quite a lot of these discipline issues lately and I think some of it boils down to the team not having had clear enough instruction and structure. That's really not something I'd ever have expected to happen under Craig Levein but it does feel like that's how i turned out.

I think we have to hope the players will feel like they have a clean slate now, and we'll get to see which ones respond well to a different way of coaching. Personally I think there are a few in our team who have the potential to look like much better players if they're managed well and start to feel more confident in their roles. Sidibeh's an obvious one but I'd also like to think there could be better to come from players like Cameron, Smith, Keltjens and Wright.
