I would hope that Kimpioka would re-sign. I think he's been really good, but not really eye catching enough for bigger clubs to be offering him deals. I can't see the likes of Hearts/Hibs/Aberdeen going for him, let alone somewhere in England.

Yes, but on the same number as Nicky Clark. I'd just be surprised if he's caught the eye of one of the big clubs, particularly as many might have been more focused on Sidebeh

Yeah, interesting he said the agent called him after "one and a half games not playing", which rules out people like Max and McPake who basically never play. There are only really a few players who fit that description since Valakari arrived.

I like the way he also talks about coaching a player, giving them a job and seeing how they respond to the instructions. It has been a long time since we have heard a manager talk about that 🤣

“Okay – let’s see when we make his role very clear if he is open to learn, because I thought we could help him."
“As you see him now, when he is in the right positions, he can do his job much better."

To be fair, he had a fair amount of work to do on that side, when you have to do Douglas' job as well as your own.

For me it's Sidibeh or Matt Smith. But Matt Smith has recently been talking about wanting to stay, whereas Sidibeh has an agent who we know likes to try to press for a move.

Carey could have been another option, but I reckon he accepts he won't start every week so it's probably not him.

I'd love to know who the "people" were that were telling him those things about Sprangler. If it's one of the existing coaches, that could perhaps give some insight into why Levein wasn't playing him?

I think so, because often it's written within a loan agreement that a player will be considered a first team player, or get a certain amount of game time.

Don't think it's Smith because he's been talking about how much he loves it here. Carey knows he won't play every game.

Right back centre half and something different a Swanson type player id be happy with the squad 

I'd be extending Sven,Benji and Kirk's contract at the moment.

I don't think we have the budget for four new players in as people are suggesting. The manager has already brought in two extras. Also, moving on players like MacPherson who are on decent contracts is easier said than done. We might not be able to end Cameron's loan, depending on the agreement.

GK is the key and they need to be good, so I imagine that'll take up the chunk of our budget. I'm happy with Sanders and Bozo as a centre back pairing.

Right back? - Wright is going to be a starter, but if Keltjens goes, which looks likely, I think Essel could manage there if needed.

I'd rather focus on that GK spot rather than spread the budget over four positions.

His injury wasn't mentioned at all until he'd missed a few games.

Valakari also making the point, in the same interview, that he doesn't want people who "take the easy option of giving up then make excuses for it" when they're dropped instead of fighting for their spot.

To me the timeline hints at MacPherson playing 45 v Rangers, being dogshit, getting dropped, we then win 3-0 v County without him in the squad. He complains about it. Gets told the team won't be changing since it played so well, and throws his toys out completely and gets "injured", which will magically recover when he either thinks he can play again or in January when he wants a move.

Plenty suggestions around that extra money is being made available for Valakari as there's such a belief in him and his targets.

There was clearly money left over from the Summer anyway, as even Levein had 3-4 players on trial/targeted before he left.

The idea that you can 'get rid' of players that easily is ridiculous. Who is going to, for example, take Olunfunwa on the pay he's on with us, considering he can't get in a League 1 team? Who is going to buy an injured Ikpeazu? No point tearing up his contract as you have to pay the rest of his wages in one go. Smith is already out on loan, they'd only make that permanent at the end of his contract (anything before that would be financially irresponsible - see us and MacPherson)

I could see it possible that someone might take McPake or MacPherson on loan, paying part of their wage.

Maybe, I just don't think MacPherson has really been a first team player for any of the managers since he arrived. He's been in and out of the team. So it would seem odd that he'd get difficult just because he's been dropped for a game and a bit. Sidebeh seemed to be angling for a move all summer, and feels that he's a starter. I'm sure he did an interview in the summer where he was hardly complementary about being here. His agent is obviously quite direct as shown by the leaks to the press that we saw about him moving to every club you could think of. He's shown frustration when being subbed in the past. It just seems more likely to me.

Sidibehs played more often than not, and hasn't missed out a game by choice, since Valakari came in.
