St Mirren v Saints 1/2/25

Recommended Posts

If we start with that defense on Saturday against St.Mirren we will be taken behind the woodshed!

We need to get some central defenders in, a couple of brusiers with a bit of mobility not in the mould of these kippers Aberdeen are playing.

I'm on the platform thinking about buying a ticket for the Survival Express and a win here might persuade me to part with my cash.

We will definitely need 2 players in who hit the ground running.

Difficult to predict how it's gonna go.

After defeating Sevco on their own patch, Midden lost the next 4 games, 2 at home to the Dundee clubs and 2 away to Septic and Killie, before humping Dons away.

Ticket purchased. Here's hoping.

C.o.y.s.

Our next 5 games are all against teams currently in the bottom 6. So it's like a mini-post split schedule.

If our aim is 38 points, that's 20 that we need to survive. 9 points from the next 5 games, 9 posts from the 5 post-split, and 2 points from the remaining 4 (Aberdeen, Celtic, Dundee U, Hibs) gets us there.

So it's not about this game being a must-win game, it's about can we get 9 points from the 5 games overall. 3 wins and 2 defeats would probably keep us bottom, but repeat that post-split and it's 2 points from 4 games against the top half needed.

So I think we need to get behind the team, but not panic if things aren't going our way. The last two games have given optimism. I can see why others have written us off, but there circumstances seem right here for a great escape.

Hopefully get a few breaks for a change. Last game at Paisley we had a perfectly good goal chopped of when Adama was deemed to have fouled the defender who fell over. That goal allowed and we would have gone on to win and it might have done wonders for Sidebehs confidence as it was a well taken goal.

Plus we played them of the park at McDiarmid before throwing the game away.

So hope for a win.

If Balodis isn’t registered in time I would go:

                         Fisher

           Curtis   Mikulic   Douglas

                       Sprangler

Franczak   Griffith        Holt     Wright

                           Carey

                            Kirk

Anyway, I'm right up for this one.

It'd be great to put one over this mob. They really annoy me for some reason.

A win here and the teams above start to seriously look over their shoulders.

Huge game in so many ways. I suppose every one is right now.

It seems from the Courier piece that Svedberg might be getting a start.

It's difficult to map out a team because we don't know who's available, got work permits, etc.

They invite pressure, so let's give it to them. Score early and see how they handle it.

Fascinating game today. It could go so many ways.

I think they handled it earlier in the season with the help of VAR.

Watt only played his last game two or three weeks ago so should be match ready

Not sure I’d be starting a new midfield at a tough away ground on the back of two wins but the manager will have seen more of them so might view that differently.

I'd certainly be starting at least 1 of them over Max, that's for sure.
