SaintJet
Aberdeen visit us on Saturday and are in decent form having endured a wretched string of results which had them in relegation form. I have to say I've never been overly impressed with the Dons even during their good early season run. I think we have an opportunity to spring a surprise result here and with our defence settling down and a new found confidence about the team we should be looking to take all three points. I know this might seem optimistic but I've been really encouraged by our recent approach to games and we are playing some nice stuff without us getting a return. I also believe in the law of averages and we have endured some rotten luck against the Dons at McD including some shocking ref and VAR decisions. A good crowd and a the pitch less bog and more grass should produce a good football game. sane_tee, blueheaven and PerthSaint01
SaintJet
Tickets seems to be selling well for this match. With a big Aberdeen support should be a good atmosphere.

Not had enough sun and heat for grass and we have a groundsman who will be watering for fun.

SaintJet
What team are we starting with? I think Simo might be tempted to start Carey after his exploits on Monday but I hope he stays with the team that kicked off against Livi maybe with Wright starting if his injury has healed properly. I love having Carey to come off the bench and influence the game. I thought the Duke didn't have the best of games first half on Monday but that pitch and in your face Livi Tactics was a tough gig. I was pleased to see Kimpy back on the bench and I wonder he might get a sniff of a game - he has showed up well against the Dons.

Cagey
Aberdeens defence is the weakest part of their team. Hope we go 2 up front and go for it.
PSJ.84
Wright for Svedberg is the one change I’d make. Wright at wing back and Duke-McKenna higher up the park. SaintJet and blueheaven

Second this, Svedberg was completely anonymous in the Livi game and we looked better when he came off.

blueheaven
Surely Griffith has got to be back by now? He seems to have been back in training for a while and I assume he was only left out on Monday because of the pitch. If he's available, I'd put him in for Svedberg. Would also like to find a way for Wright and Duke-McKenna to both start, but suspect it might be one or the other. Agree with the other comments about Carey being better when used as an impact sub. David H
I am Plymouth Argyle fan who is visiting my son who lives nearby. I was hoping to get a ticket for myself and my son to watch the Aberdeen game in the hope that we would see Graham Carey play, he's still held in very high esteem by Argyle fan's 5 years after he left us. However, it appears that St Johnstone FC are not prepared to let me purchase a ticket, even a Concession for a 69-year old. I watch a lot of Scottish football, both live on Sky and the highlights each week on BBC Scotland. I now understand why matches at McDiarmid Park are so poorly attendeded, with stands closed off and banks of empty seats. The club doesn't appear to want people to come and watch football! I have rung the club ticket office numerous times but can't get a reply and I have e-mailed the ticket office but not had a response. It comes across as a bit "small club", can't handle more than a crowd of 5.000. Is their a history of crown trouble? Is there anyway in which a neutral fan who happens to be visiting the area can purchase a Concession and an Adult ticket? garydavidson and R.B.B:- Adz

Not asking for any favours and certainly not expecting any. I was just asking for advice from fellow football fans. I can't understand why a club with a Home fan base of about 3,500 won't sell tickets to genuine neutrals. In the old days you would just turn up and pay at the gate, but sadly that's a thing of the past. In fairness to the club, I appreciate they do not want to inadvertently sell tickets to fans of the Old Firm or other teams with large Away followings still to play at Muirton Park this season. I only arrived in Scotland last Friday but I was easily able to buy a ticket (online) in the main stand at Tynecastle to watch the Cup game against Dundee, so I was surprised when a smaller club like St Johnstone made it so difficult to get one. Do you eat pasties on the beach ? you know nothing about our club .i think your a wind up dude . any football fan would have an idea about other teams ground .did you know that Paul sturrock managed our club . You’ve heard of him I think if your really Plymouth. i am not going to help you because I think your at it .
Gekko
If Griffith is fit and ready, I'd have him in from the start for this one. We've missed him and we'll need his kind of hustle against the Aberdeen midfield. It depends on Wright's fitness whether he'd start or not. Simo mentioned he was showing signs of fatigue. Duke got a lesson in Scottish football on Monday night, and hopefully he's benefitted from that. In after match interviews, Carey was saying how he had noticed the space we weren't making the most of, I think that's also his strength. His knowledge and experience of the game means that when he does go on, he knows the best way to make a difference. I'd keep both him and Wright on the bench, to be brought on if and when needed. So basically the same starting eleven from Monday, with the the only exception being Griffith for Svedberg. Fisher Balodis Mitchell Douglas Curtis Sprangler Holt Duke Griffith Sidibeh Kirk That would mean we would also have decent options from the bench, with Clark, Benji, Steven, Wright and Carey all available if we needed to switch things up a bit. For me, that's a decent squad. Coltrane

You’ve heard of him I think if your really Plymouth. i am not going to help you because I think your at it . Not everyone eats pasties down here, but many do. I knew your old ground was Muirton Park but I didn't know the correct spelling, getting the 'i' and the 'r' in the wrong order. I have also been to McDiarmid Park, back in 2004. Of course I know Sturrock, he still lives down our way and still comes to matches. He's coping quite well with his Parkinsons. Didn't he lead you to promotion to the SPL before he left to go back to Tannadice. He was a good lower-League Manager for us working with a limited budget but not so good when he got into the Championship and had more money to spend, as was also the case for him at Sheffield Wednesday. He didn't do us much of a favour though when he recommended his mate Bobbie Williamson as his successor when he left us to join Southampton in the PL. You're right when you say I don't know much about your club, bit I am just passing through. However, when I was a youngster I used to read lots of football books which left me with a head full of football trivia. I know your name is something to do with the old name for Perth. I can remember when you had quite a decent team under Willie Ormond back in the early 70s and didn't you come good again in the late 90s under Sandy Clark for a couple of seasons or so? I also remember good players like John Connolly and Jim Pearson coming down South in the mid-70s and then Callum Davidson in the mid-90s. You've been a bit of a yo-yo club over the last 20-odd years but you had that great season with the 2 Cup wins around the time of COVID, a feat unlikely to be repeated by a non-OF club. As a Plymouth fan, I'm disappointed that Luke Jephcott was a bit of a flop for you, he was highly rated as a youngster with us but lost his way somewhat and his career has bombed. It looked like a good move when he signed for you. Another ex-Argyle player, Steven McLean was an intelligent player and I thought he might have made a good Manager but it wasn't to be.
