If something's going to be "lucrative" then that's a good thing for Saints, no? I'm not really sure what point you're trying to make in apparently sneering about things that are obvious improvements. Besides all that, isn't the point of the lift to improve disabled access? MySpazz 1 Quote

CAH Posted May 16, 2025 Report Posted May 16, 2025 Blue heaven - you need to go back to the beginning of this conversation - Of course any increase in revenue to the club is welcome. But not at the expense of the football dept & Saints seem to have got their priorities skewed. ie: great facilities & a shit team!!! Quote

That whole McGowan situation was a real embarrassment for Saints, and Levein in particular. I know he wasn't a world-beater but I think McGowan would have come in useful for us this season and I'd certainly have rather seen his contract extended than Cammy MacPherson's. I also still think we'd have been better off with Stevie May in the squad than without him. I think Liam Gordon's a slightly different one - his performance levels had really dropped and it felt at the time like he needed the move and a fresh start. Wendy Saints 1 Quote

Thought that Scoreboard, LEDs, Lift and other improvements are to meet either legal or ground grading regs. Perhaps same with astro, upgrade to get ahead of any incoming grading regs. Quote

Backed up by someone similarly inexperienced. Hmmm….I’m not sure Rae was supposed to be a Mitov replacement. I think the idea was to let him play the first few cup games to see if he’d be first team or reserve, with the expectation that a bigger budget was coming with the new owner Quote
RandomGuy Posted May 16, 2025 Report Posted May 16, 2025 It was widely rumoured Levein wanted Craig Gordon as first choice keeper and goalkeeping coach and thought he could tempt him. Quite how sensible that was considering the Hearts manager had been open for months before the summer window opened that he wanted to keep Gordon is up for debate. Quote
R.B.B:- Adz Posted May 16, 2025 Report Posted May 16, 2025 Would Monday 26th May be too early to expect to see the released players list? Genuinely buzzing! Start of new era… Quote

RandomGuy Posted May 16, 2025 Report Posted May 16, 2025 I found Nicky Clarks total disappearance a bit odd tbf. Like he wasn't great and was clearly too slow to play up front, but he also hadn't been so bad that he needed ignored entirely when chasing results. sane_tee 1 Quote

I'd have used Clark up front more often than we did. His finishing ability had regularly rescued us on previous occasions and I felt there were times he'd have been a better starting option than Kirk/Sidibeh. I don't think he ever really worked as a midfielder, though. Can't help but think something must have happened to make Simo lose faith in him. At a previous fans' forum Simo spoke really highly of him and spoke about the decision to make him captain. A few months on from that he barely started another game. Quote

Tattie-bogle Posted May 16, 2025 Report Posted May 16, 2025 His outburst after that county game really soured me to him so I'm only guessing it was an attitude thing. I remember scrutinizing his attitude in that video when Simo took over and thinking his body language to a new manager was not great. Given he was then made or kept as captain I just reckoned I was being biased but who knows. Quote

Still think that IF May accepts a huge wage reduction, then I'd be offering him a contract. Ultimately he won't get a Premiership club now and hopefully would want to be part of the attempt to get his club promoted. Not saying he would be starter, but would give the running, energy, experience and the experience on and off the park. Strawman and Cumbernauld Saint 1 1 Quote

crieffsaintandy Posted May 16, 2025 Report Posted May 16, 2025 Personally now we know where we are, we need fresh players in, why keep looking back at the mays off this world who can't get a game for livi, time to move on, these guys were part of the last four years of utter dross, fresh start and new blood required me thinks Quote
