What worries me in the statement put out that we expect to lose money next year and we have just released plenty of players, with a reduced budget just how many players will we be able to afford to bring in and how many bigger clubs from down south will be prepared to loan their players to a championship level team?

I honestly hope we can pull a few rabbits out of Simo’s hat

From what I have read it looks as though the playing budget is going to remain the same but be spent on fewer players which should provide the better quality we need. I don’t think next season is the one to worry about financially it’s forthcoming ones if unable to get out of the Championship

Not sure how believable, but stories going round about Carey, Douglas, Clark and (of course) MacPherson being a bad influence in the dressing room. Also, someone (Clark? Carey?) caused an argument at half time by suggesting the Douglas OG was on purpose because he was being released.

I think it is interesting how players come across. If you told me four players who were troublesome and asked me to guess who, I’d have said those three.

Similarly, to me Sprangler, Ikpeazu, Wright and Raymond always come over really well.

Nicky Clark was the ringleader in the anti-Levein campaign in the dressing room. I am sure Cleland, Kirk and McDougall would have made Simo aware of his potential to shit-stir in the dressing room and his card would have been marked.

Carey had to be removed from the dressing room before for screaming in the face of a young player(left back) at half time. A senior pro at the time told Carey to pick on someone his own size or he would have him to deal with.

Good riddance to these types of characters - wouldn’t have lasted 5 minutes with Frazer Wright, Ando, Easton, Mackay.

This season or last? He certainly seemed to have a thing against Robinson more than once. 

To be fair though, personally, I'd give Carey a fair bit of slack now we know how his family situation was developing. That can't be easy not to take into work every day.

Carey took it too far on the pitch sometimes, it might have been Robinson but I thought it was someone else, who he used to just absolutely ****ing hound every time they played together. Ando and MacLean were moany bastards but it kind of went beyond that. As said though, personal problems give some understanding if that was all going on.

Nicky Clark has no excuse that we know of. Fairly sure there were rumours he was causing issues at United behind the scenes when he was dropped too.

Dunfermline fans on P&B seem pretty convinced they might have the largest budget in the division next season and that their owners are willing to write off 7 figure losses to chase promotion.

I’d be interested to know who else was anti Levein. He seemed to play Clark quite happily which seems strange if there were problems.

Livingston have a new owner, some great grandson of Henry Ford.

Raith are run by the same folk who used to bankroll Kelty. I dont think theyre in the same league as County or Deunfermlines owners.

Let other clubs make the noise about what they are gonna do and how much they are going to spend. Valakari has spoken well this week in media but now needs to back it up with actions.

If there are to be 10 plus signings as Eric Nicolson alludes to in Courier today then there will be more departures to come if they are aiming at this 20-man outfield squad.

We still haven't heard anything about decisions from those with relegation release clauses. I wonder if that news is still to come, or if they've all decided to stay.

If Bozo and Balodis decide to stay that would be good. I would also go for Declan Gallagher. If Sam McClelland impresses in close season then that is central defence pretty much sorted.

These are the margins that haven’t fallen our way over the past 4 seasons that we need to start making sure that they do…

We start the season with Balodis and Mikulic we will go up - we will be solid.

We start the season with McClelland and Gallagher, we concede more goals and we struggle to win the league.

If Bozo and Balodis stay, I don’t think it’s likely we’d use a huge chunk of the budget on Gallagher. I think the idea is to have a first team squad of senior players, supplemented by young back up (like McClelland). I think we’re going to be signing quite a few young players from divisions below, with a hope that they’ll make the grade

Except McClelland was a McLean signing coming up from down south, via Chelsea's youth set up. Can almost guarantee he isn't on back up wage, more likely he's earning more than the other two you've mentioned.

I get the impression there are also conversations to be had as we are yet to cut the wages in the contracts of other players, do they also have a choice of lower wages or leaving?
