With our record of fighting relegation every season I wonder if any of those with a year left on their contract have a release clause in their contract. 

We have 6 or 7 midfielders contracted for next season but Fran is the only one I oud be bothered about losing.

Rebuild needed core of decent players needed out of the out of contract players id be giving sprangler and drey contracts if they want them 

Carey if he's happy and McClelland if he can prove his fitness 

Hopefully next season get to see more of Taylor and Fran

Josh mcpake now deserves a run in the team I was one who thought he wasn't up to the task well done for proving all us wrong

Also no keeper required as Sinclair and Rae has now shown they are well up to championship standard

Stating the obvious, but the club need to be ready to go the minute the transfer window opens. This relegation has not happened overnight. We have known for months now that the club was likely heading down, hopefully Valakari, MacPherson, Smith and Webb have been planning and we can get our targets in early.

Ideally I would like to see a core of 5/6 players who have experience of the Scottish game. Players that will give us a 7 or 8 out of 10 performance most weeks. Easier said than done, but it’s what we will need if we have any hope of coming straight back up. Declan Gallagher would be a good start.

Would be surprised if we see Essel and Raymond play for us again. Encouraging to read about Rae’s performance at Raith, but I would still be looking for another keeper.

Will Balodis and Griffith want to stay? Whilst neither play for international giants, if playing in the Championship will impact on them being picked for their countries, then neither will want to hang around. Kirk could attract attention from teams in the Premiership. A season in the Championship would be the best thing for him as whilst he has impressed this season, he is still raw, although if a Kilmarnock or Dundee United come calling, I wouldn’t blame him for leaving. Given Uches reported wage, both parties might decide it’s best if there is a parting of ways. 

My targets would be:

Experienced keeper

Right back and two left backs

Two centre halfs

Physical centre midfielder

Two wingers

A striker capable of holding the ball up and linking play. 
 

No easy task.

Rae has too many mistakes in him, dropping a league doesn’t change that, he makes a mistake first couple games and he’s straight under pressure.

Sinclair has played maybe ten ( ?) top flight games for us, has never played higher than Div one apart from them, nothing to show he is well up to championship standard I don’t think. Don’t get me wrong I d love him to prove me wrong.

To start next season with the same keepers as this year would just be repeating a mistake.

Could see Rae being in demand and us not fighting it. Raymond and Essel have no future here now I'd guess, there's rumours of off field issues and Raymond has done nothing with Dunfermline.

Still not sure who'll re-sign. You'd think Sprangler and Wright, and possibly Carey.

You could possibly see below as a "realistic" starting point with all that and Mikulics injury.

Agree (surprisingly) but with the exception of McPake. He has had a couple of good performances - What happens if he reverts to type for the remainder of the season. Jury very much out!

The difference in the midfield when Watt came on yesterday was noticeable. You need to have an array of midfielders and getting one that's comfortable on the ball and just knows where to be and how to spread the play is imperative. We haven't used him enough over the past couple of months.

We need to have central midfield options that cover all the bases. We then need a manager that more often than not gets it right when selecting which ones to use and is also capable of identifying how to change things using the options at his disposal during games.

Watt, Griffith and Holt seem like they should be a solid enough balanced midfield three. Wouldn’t mind Watt and Griffith as a two with Carey playing more advanced though.

Carey’s wonder goal at Livi and assist for Balodis vs Celtic slightly influencing people’s opinion on whether he should be starting matches.

To me he isn’t and shouldn’t be a premier league starter anymore. He’s to bitty in games at this level. One ridiculous worldie pass on the half volley doesn’t cover multiple instances of poor positioning, lack of tracking and misplaced passes.

Maybe in the championship where we can afford a player who drifts in and out of games and misplaces 10-15 passes per game but not in the bottom six of this league where every misplaced pass or runner that doesn’t get tracked can end in a goal.
