4 clean sheets in a row for Jack Sanders at MK Dons. Seen people saying it was a mistake to let Essel and Raymond go, not bothered about either of those two but feel Sanders was a mistake.

He wanted to leave.

He played a part in the Christmas collapse too with his stupidity v St Mirren.

The defence improved until we lost Mikulic to injury anyway, then got even worse with no Wright and Mitchell.

I think Sanders had potential, but someone offered money for him and we were right to take it. He deserved the right to earn more money too

Can accept the decision to let him leave if you then get adequate cover in but he had 18 months left on his contract and had played nearly every game up until he left. We weren’t able to sign enough defensive cover and are now so short after a couple of injuries that it’s likely relegated us. It was really obvious we couldn’t run with the defensive numbers we had until the end of the season, another poor decision from the club unfortunately.

Was there not a story that he wanted to leave and drew out of a match the morning of a game for some reason that the fans didn't like.

He had a pretty serious kidney infection I believe. Some fans made the assumption he had refused to play, I think.

Fran Smith apparently said to supporters in the Muirton Suite before the game that we have four players with relegation release clauses in their contracts.

Thoughts on who they are? Uche likely to be one. Adama? Holt?

We had Mikulic, Balodis, Mitchell, and Sprangler and Douglas had both performed well in a back 3 too, when he left

So, if a player wanted away he would play poorly in the hope of us being relegated & we have four of them! Explains a lot?

i don’t imagine Kirk will be on much, but there was swirlings of hearts having a buyback in his contract. Would it shock you if Levein allowed it for relegation?

Squad wasn’t anywhere near robust enough in that area of the pitch - it’s costing us now.

Why not cut to the chase? All of our players with the exception of Wright and possibly Kirk  are either done, bang average (on a good day) or absolute crap!

Why do so many talk about how good Wright is? He has given away possession so many times for one thing. I get the number of positions he’s played in, but I don’t get the plaudits.

The mark of a good player is to give 100% every match. Drey is the only one in the team who delivers on that front!

Yes, and the wages we’re spending on the three centre mids signed in January who haven’t been good enough. Would we have been worse off looking to give Franczak an extended run in the team. Hard to see how. 
The mistake with Clark was made three years ago, it doesn’t mean you just leave the squad unequipped in certain areas.

Franczaks been injured. If they hadn't signed CMs and Smith remained frozen out would you have complained about a lack of CM depth?

For a couple of weeks he was injured. The point is we already had Smith and he’s a better player than any of the three that were signed. It wasn’t the best use of budget.

Maybe Smith didn’t want to make himself available. 
 

He did ask to go in January, and the fact he’s not appeared since is telling.

Smith wanted to renew his contract then got dropped by Valakari. No problem with the manager not rating him, the problem is though he’s signed three midfielders that haven’t been any better and left us short at the back.
