Complete waste of everybody's time .   We need to walk away from these arrangements.

Absolutely. Being treated like a mickey mouse team with no pride or self respect!! Get Forrester tae f****. And don't tell me it's no the player's fault - if he had any gumption he'd tell McInnes where to go!!

Under the terms of the agreement, do we not have to guarantee he makes a minimum of 5 appearances of 15 mins or more

Think its before March or something, otherwise we arent allowed to use him after that date.

Yeah, McInnes has abused the scheme . Nothing illegal but not in the spirit of the scheme.

The fact that even after recalling him they never gave him much game time.

Surely this is not a one way scheme and Saints can now return him now that we no longer require a right back.

McInnes really is an arse.

We need a right back.

Surprised that some think Tumilty is the answer.

Except we’ve signed a right back in Smith…

Smith can also play left back so it is extra cover either way.

0 minutes. He never even made the bench in those two games.

I understand the situation isn’t great however if we all our strikers out for whatever reason and needed to recall Mylchreest from Cove we would have done the same.

feel for the player, talk about pissed about

Linked up well with Josh.

Maybe better there than at right back.

Don't expect that Smith was signed to sit on the bench , waiting to be subbed on at R or L back.

Is Forrester seriously good enough to risk this level of disruption over? I really worry that having him coming in and out of the club, and getting game time ahead of permanent players only to vanish off back to Hearts again, could unsettle the mood of the squad, which is really the last thing we need after all the good work that has gone into improving the atmosphere/culture this summer. And what's really the benefit? Having occasional use of an inexperienced 20-year-old right-back, when our squad already has plenty of options in that position? Personally I'd have told Hearts to keep him as we've moved on to other arrangements.

Feel a bit sorry for the player himself who has probably also been unsettled by all of this, but really that's not Saints' fault and shouldn't be Saints' problem.

I wonder if taking Forrester when we don’t really need him is part of the deal for having someone else we do need

Very good point, I would like to see Wilson join us on loan. Maybe im dreaming but he could be the answer in the event of injury ect.

And if Shankland gets injured maybe he could spend a couple of weeks with us to build up his fitness before returning  to Hearts.  St Johnstone FC - the Club wi nae pride????

I'm not sure the benefits Saints get with such an arrangement with a fellow "premiership" team.  To me, we're helping their kids come through while ours fail to get opportunities.  I'd rather use similar ones from our youth setup to bolster our team squad.  Loaning ours to the lower leagues helps prepare them but we are not competitors.

Seeing a 15 year old playing first team football for Arsenal brings up the old adage, if they're good enough, they're old enough.  Was it SFA rules which meant Hamill never played until the last game when we needed a left back?  He proved he was better than the other options.

There in lies the problem not too many in the youth set up here have been good enough to push for the first team, and the ones that were left for England. Hopefully changes but not much coming through the saints set up and the ones that are hoovered up by the Prem, same as every club in Scotland.

Hamill wasnt a left back.

As I understand it we had a game postponed due to a rule about 3 or more international call ups. One of those call ups is no longer at the club…. Should the game now go ahead?
A tongue in cheek question to highlight a questionable rule……

Well no, what if two of those players pulled out of the squad injured instead, you wouldn't suddenly need to play it. Plus it's been postponed and both teams will have let their players have time off and haven't prepared for the game, so it would be a silly thing to make them both play it. I know you already know the answer, but once games are postponed they're never getting put back under any circumstance.

Time off, poor lambs! They are only just back after their long Summer break. Couple of hours training, 4 or 5 days a week, and 1, occasionally 2, games of football a week is hardly an arduous working life.

I jest of course....................!

Load of nonsense right there… It’s not about pride, if we can get a player in who can do us a turn, that’s better than what’s in there squad would you be complaining?
