As we improve and people start to come along to matches can I ask that the club address a small issue before it becomes a larger one .

Yesterday i had to explain to 2 supporters that they were about to sit in seats allocated to st holders who were running late .

I had watched the steward look at their tickets an point them in the general direction of our area.

So after looking at the ticket moving forward i have a couple of suggestilons to stop issues happening .

  • Get better informed Stewards that know the seating structure ,or at least a mapping of what rows relate to their areas incase they need to summon aid to an area.
  • Paint the full row markers on the stairs ie J-E, C-J as at this time we have J, C  etc.
  • Or put a sign at the head of the stairs on the back panel of stand with the Section allocation .
  • Maybe put a small map on the printed ticket showing the searts in relation to the stand , this would also help stewards direct the supporters to their correct seats .

I know people will say ...ach just sit anywhere .. but as we become more popular there may be a time that you will find a cuckoo in your nest should you encounter a small delay in arriving and have to sit away from your usual area  or break up a family seating plan.

Yeah having been an ST holder for years and turning up at McD for the Falkirk friendly I was pretty puzzled to see that there were no ST markings on the seats.

Got talking to the guy next to me about tickets and he mentioned this has been the case for a while?

Also regarding tickets that Falkirk game was a bit of a shambles, I went in pay at gate and was given a random ticket with a seat number on it. Asked the steward do I have to goto my ticketed seat or is it general seating? Was told it was sit anywhere. I got lucky but as things got busier there was a lot of musical chairs with people insisting they have their ticketed seat.

What is the protocol here? Seems a bit shit to rock up and hour before KO and pay at gate to be allocated a random (likely shit seat) but likewise if I go online and choose a seat I'm choosing it because I want that seat.

I guess you just buy it online on the day I suppose which negates a cash gate. Or have it as all online sales for certain games are just general admission and as long as your are not in an ST seat then all good

At some grounds you can buy the tickets from the Office on the day and choose your seat

The club would welcome ideas like this.....send em to our SLO Bev

The subject of season ticket holders seat having reserved sticker previously and not now has been brought up before.  The explanation given was that all attending are given a ticket with seat details then there is no need for stickers on reserved seats.

You should only sit in the seat that your ticket indicates and it is not a sit where you like.

If someone in your seat ask them to move.

I think the minimum that needs done is stickers on season ticket seats again, not sure why that was ever stopped.

That's too simple and easy to do. Don't understand why they did away with them.

It’s quite odd to see some normally intelligent people arrive at a football stadium and immediately become unable to follow a simple alpha numeric seating system. Why is that?

Aye I’m really not sure it’s an issue with signage.

Next time look at your seat number on your ticket and then look at the numbering structure  on the stairs.

Remember most people that are clutching their tickets are new to this and all you need is someone having an off day to cause issues that will blight their experience and not return..

Stickers on seats were asked for at Fan Forum meeting a couple of years ago. Club/Bev said basically no chance. Folk should sit in allocated seat and if issue go to a steward. Bit of a cop out.

Go to a steward...anyone ever tried to have a sensible conversation with these people??

I’ve had the same season ticket seat for several years, however, I’m rarely at games for various reasons. Normally when I do turn up there are the same 3 or 4 guys sitting in my row and one of them is normally in my seat. Rather than argue with them or get a steward to remove them, I sit in the nearest available seat and watch the game.

It's been a while since I had a season ticket, but if anybody had been in my seat, they'd be getting launched.

I had an excellent one in the Ormond, and another great one in the East Stand in later seasons.

No way would I be giving that up. And it had a big "reserved" sticker on it.

You are very kind. I watch them every week, home and away. Bottom row is usually A, their ticket is D but they’re looking for their seats up the back. There’s definitely a lack of common sense. All ages too.

The stewards have maps of the areas of ground etc round their necks attached to a land yard. But always see them looking around blankly usually sending people the wrong way.

Why do the Club not carry out a discrete audit of the standard of stewarding by getting a director to move around outside the ground on a matchday and observe what goes on? After all it is their customers who are being mucked about!

Unless the club employed their own stewards I can't imagine it will change. Most of the stewards probably aren't living in Perth and just pick up any shift they can/get offered.

It is poorly paid work, which often comes with a lot of grief. Having stewards feels like it has become a tick box exercise rather than having any benefit for the situations they need to encounter.

Surely there must be a service level agreement between the Club and the 'security company'! Otherwise Saints would be paying through the nose for not a lot!!
