GORDON76 Posted September 14, 2025 Report Posted September 14, 2025 Whilst we are playing well at the moment , a wee bit of fun. Been Muirtonee since mid 70's so here is my worst eleven. Keeper: A hard one, we have had really good keepers over the years. Going for Andy Rhodes. A flash poser and his " you lot paid for my rolex watch" to Saints supporters gets my vote. Defence: right back, can't think of any really bad RB so will go for James Brown. Central defence. Malcolm Lowe and Phil Roberts. Left back Sean McAuley. Midfield: Cammy MacPherson, Jacob Butterfield and Ian Gibson. Front three: Martin Buglioni, Dyron Daal and Andy Brannigan. Quote
PSJ.84 Posted September 14, 2025 Report Posted September 14, 2025 Wallace Duffy and Madis Vihmann breathe a huge sigh of relief. mike_gain 1 Quote
mike_gain Posted September 14, 2025 Report Posted September 14, 2025 Surely room for Euan Mclean, Cleveland Taylor, Michael Coulson and Rory Fallon in the team or at least on the bench. Harsh on James Brown as I don't think he's anywhere near as bad as everyone else mentioned. But I genuinely can't think of anyone at right back who has been awful. Quote
Mizfit Posted September 14, 2025 Report Posted September 14, 2025 Where’s Jahmal Hector Ingram? mike_gain 1 Quote
mike_gain Posted September 14, 2025 Report Posted September 14, 2025 Wait.....Adam Morgan, is he even good enough to make the bench? Quote

crieffsaintandy Posted September 14, 2025 Report Posted September 14, 2025 Sir Alistair Crawford, his few goals saved him from.the squad, but what a nothing player Quote

GORDON76 Posted September 14, 2025 Author Report Posted September 14, 2025 Ooft, good shout. Starting to feel guilty about James Brown because he was decent. Can't think of any really poor right back over the years. R.B.B:- Adz 1 Quote

RandomGuy Posted September 14, 2025 Report Posted September 14, 2025 There's a chance we line up against central midfield pairing of Crawford and MacPherson this season, now that Morton have signed MacPherson. rik2304 1 Quote

Calluna4u Posted September 14, 2025 Report Posted September 14, 2025 Was wondering how far back we are going.....most of the names are in last decade, but see Andy Brannigan gets pulled in...so from around the same time.......Gordon McGregor. Don't remember seeing him do much at all and he would be high up my list of ineffective players. The die that hit rock bottom in the first season of the premier league were earnest players out of their depth and many would quality of this......I remember how slow some of them seemed..esp a left back whose name escapes me that I think we signed from Montrose...I roomed with a Hearts supporter and an Aberdeen supporter at college in Glasgow at the time and took some horrendous ribbings..all in good spirit though. The group of us which included a Brechin supporter and probably one of the only three Lossiemouth supporters in the world...travelled all over west central Scotland every night there was a game on, irrespective of who was playing. Only ground we disliked going to was Ibrox, but our scariest night was coming back from Shawfield.. Saints have had our share of pretty ordinary journeymen over the years. I think all the managers signed some that did not work out at all well. HertsAgain 1 Quote

Other suggestions - Iain Lee was pretty grim, wasn't he? Edited September 15, 2025 by HertsAgain Quote
GORDON76 Posted September 15, 2025 Author Report Posted September 15, 2025 Remember Iain Lee. Signed by Lord Totten I think. One of few not so good signings including Sean McAuley and Billy Blackie. Quote
