This won’t be an easy game, but if we play as we know we can and we don’t have a spell where we fade out of the game then I take us to win. The weather however, might have a say in matters. Hopefully it won’t be too windy and that the rain eases off by 3pm. Looking for another decent home support for this game too.

Ayr should be one of the teams fighting for top spot. Been building towards it for a few years now and have a relatively strong squad. Kevin Holt, Scott McMann, Ben Dempsey, Dom Thomas, Marco Rus, George Oakley, Anton Dowds, all ones who would be fine/very good in our squad. Obviously have Jamie Murphy too.

3-5-2 and aggressive football so this could be the same type of game as Dunfermline, but Ayr should be better than them.

Not going to be surprised if this is a draw at all.

Forecast for 3 pm cloudy with wind speed of 28 mph.

Bournemouth v Fulham last night played in atrocious conditions.

Only way game would be off is if travel was deemed to be dangerous, I don't know what it's like in the west or groundsman has been watering pitch.

Wet and windy and not sure the trains have been back on down here today.

Wind getting up now

Boyes at left back ?.

Thompson sub goalie. Hope he is not required.

Sounds like Thomson will be there next week as well. Sinclair damaged his thumb in training so is out for a couple of weeks.

Poor stuff. This ball playing stuff is all very well but you sometimes have to go rout 1.

Ayr came here to get a draw and made a good job of it with the help of the referee. We can't rely on McPake especially as he looked as he was carrying a knock and Ayr had done their homework and knew if you stop McPake you stop Saints. It was obvious early on what was happening but Simo did nothing. Why not try changing wings, try a few subs. Only 3 used , 2 with 10 mins to go.

Why is he playing Forrester ahead of Tumilty who likes bombing forward and puts a good cross in and is our player.

At least still unbeaten and results not too bad for us today.

We have a huge squad but we have not been performing well in last 3 or 4 games but still the same starting 11.

Thank feck for Jason Holt.

Sprangler played OK but why on ahead of Tumilty in right back position.

Not many positives to take out of that, clean sheet and the other results probably the only two.

Far, far too slow in moving the ball allowing Ayr to filter back into position and lucky a few times when they managed to break.

Height, id think. Ayr had just brought on two huge centre forwards.

Need to find a way to win games like that as the majority of the next 27 will be like that. Sides happy to double up on McPake, sit deep, and counter. Everything too slow today and then zero actual threat in the box.

Another reality check for this squad who need to up their levels again. Approaching as many poor games as good games now, which is a warning.

Possibly because he wanted the full-back to come inside and create space for Wanner who was clearly told to stay wide and maybe try to stretch an Ayr defence that was very full of numbers in the middle of the pitch?
