Graeme S Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 Due to old age and an amazing hoarding capability, it appears I've amassed some Saints rarities in my time. I had a visit from Jim Slater ("Who's who of St Johnstone") on Friday and a signed 89/90 pint tumbler was added to my collection. Probably pride of place, however, goes to this piece - a signed postcard from the Real Madrid game...... blueheaven, Cleveland-Saint, McCarry One Nil and 2 others 5 Quote
Graeme S Posted October 5 Author Report Posted October 5 (edited) My sister in law's late Uncle was a long time Saints ST holder, obviously with friends in the right places - he kept all his hospitality invites, teamsheets, even ST renewals etc - but I'd never seen this: Edited October 5 by Graeme S Saintdunc and Lifelong Saintee 1 1 Quote

glenrothes saintee Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 Ive been collecting Saints mugs and drinking glasses for a few years. Possibly the rarest one will be the one with the league and Scottish cup squads on it that I found online. Graeme S, blueheaven and McCarry One Nil 3 Quote
blueheaven Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 I have a few prototype Saints shirts that were proposed as kit designs but rejected, so never seen by the public. You can see some of them in the Kit Room section of the BH website, but I think this one is my favourite: glenrothes saintee and Graeme S 2 Quote

saintgscot Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 I’m gutted as had a bus stop poster size from Monaco I saved. Basically we were waiting for the bus back to Cannes and guy was throwing all the posters in the bin and I said I’ll have them. Handed out the small ones to fans there. Also some of the bus stop size ones. I’ve seen one in old saints club on muirton road. But I lost mine due to someone giving it away. I’m so gutted. Quote
saintgscot Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 Was in Monaco today never got the poster again but spoke to a Monaco fan who remembers the game. Quote

The middle picture shows how many changes have been made in the area: Huntingtower Road going from Balgowan Road down to the Crieff Road uninterrupted, no Western Edge, no astro at Seven Acres, original Willie Lows shop, no Dobbies, the little cottage on the Crieff Road at the bottom of Huntingtower Road is still there. blueheaven Posted October 13 Report Posted October 13 Any idea what year those photos are from? Was Willie Low's already there when McDiarmid opened, or did that come afterwards? Also I have no memory of the astroturf being yellow/brown! Did Saints own that land behind the East Stand at the time, or did they acquire it later? Quote
Graeme S Posted October 13 Author Report Posted October 13 I'm assuming these photos were taken first season that McD opened - they look the same as the ones in the Miller Construction brochure I posted further up this thread. The game shots in that brochure were from the first (Clydebank) game at McD. We moved into McD in July 1989? I suspect the yellow is the sand/aggregate base before the astro was laid. Quote
Graeme S Posted October 13 Author Report Posted October 13 Ha! I'd forgotten all about this one - it's been hanging in my hobby room and I'd just got used to it being there. Very proud of this one - took it myself on the most archaic A/F camera in the world at the time. Got it blown up and took it round to Cher's house in Almondbank where he signed it for me. blueheaven and garydavidson 2 Quote

I thought that at first too, but you can see the pitch markings on there - odd that they'd have put those on before the green bit was laid? Quote

Also a goalscorer for a losing Saints team, at Gayfield, against Arbroath a very long time ago. https://arbroatharchive.co.uk/matchdetails.php?id=5333 Quote
Graeme S Posted October 22 Author Report Posted October 22 Ha! Looking for the woolies and thermals at the back of the wardrobe last night and turned up these! Both Paul Cherry jerseys in consecutive seasons, the s/s one is a No4, received as player sponsorship package if I remember rightly. Does anyone have any experience of those online framing services or any more local recommendations? Quote
