McCarry One Nil Posted October 10 Report Posted October 10 I'm enthused by the enforced change we need to make up front and what that may do for the rest of the team. Ultimately a draw would be a disappointing but OK result as it keeps the title favourites "mind the gap" the same I'd say however hope we go for the jugular from the start and mally them. dave mc and saint in the city 2 Quote
Gekko Posted October 10 Report Posted October 10 This is my one thousandth post, so I'd better make it a good one... ..Get intae them!!! 💪 As for the squad, due to not having Sidibeh and Ikpeazu I'd maybe change formation to a 4-3-3. Put Gullan up front, Fotheringham right and McPake left. In midfield, McAlear could do with starting a game or two on the bench as he's lost his early season form, so is time for Stanton to get a chance from the start? He's left footed, so put him there. Holt central, who's also left footed, then Sprangler on the right, as he's right footed. Bring back proper full backs and give Forrester a rest. Either Tumilty or Smith on the right, depending on fitness, Foulds at left back, then Baird and Diabate in the middle. Steward Tumilty/ Smith Baird Diabate Foulds Sprangler Holt Stanton Fotheringham Gullan McPake I think Simo will bring in Svedberg, but that's what Id go for. I would imagine he'll also be relatively cautious with his approach. In other words, no up and at them. Difficult to tell what Ross County will bring to this because they've been so unpredictable, so it'll be an interesting game. Quote
Widge Posted October 10 Report Posted October 10 Not to solely pick up on one thing Gekko, but Jason Holt is more definitely not left footed! Quote

You are of course correct. I was only testing that you were paying attention. And if you believe that... I've no idea why I thought that. A quick check on last weeks highlights proves it. Anyway, my team selection stays the same. Edited October 10 by Gekko Quote
Mr T Posted October 10 Report Posted October 10 Better to rest McLear as Holt with 5 yellows will be having a week off shortly Quote
Cagey Posted October 10 Report Posted October 10 Not too concerned about the rest of the lineup as long it is Faulds and Tumilty at full back. Havana Saint 1 Quote
RandomGuy Posted October 10 Report Posted October 10 Too many people, including our manager and players, talking about how we need to be careful and how other sides can still catch us. Time for us to put our foot on the divisions throat and pummel the advantage we've built up into something far more substantial. For a side sitting 9th County are remarkably cocky. Be the ideal time for us to start playing from the start again. Havana Saint, dave mc and GMac 3 Quote

pezza70 Posted October 11 Report Posted October 11 The last few games we have struggled to break down teams who have parked the bus against us. Hopefully we can attack them from the start and we build pressure and get the three points and we can continue our great start to the season. COYS Quote
Broggy Man Posted October 11 Report Posted October 11 How does this international break thing work seems unfair to go into such an important game down two players Quote

Cagey Posted October 11 Report Posted October 11 Baird and Forrester dropped and Sprangler in for Sidebeh. Quote
Broggy Man Posted October 11 Report Posted October 11 So who are Dunfermline 3 huge internationals for the threshold to be crossed for the postponement Quote
Tattie-bogle Posted October 11 Report Posted October 11 We really can't be taking 10mins every time to get the ball anywhere near a chance Quote
Broggy Man Posted October 11 Report Posted October 11 Well gonna say that was a good point in the circumstances but still furious that it was even played typical spfl and we have more international breaks to come Quote

garydavidson Posted October 11 Report Posted October 11 Another week with no ground lost, still a positive on that front at least. Quote
Gekko Posted October 11 Report Posted October 11 We're pretty, there's no doubt about that, but we missed that attacking edge that Sidibeh and Ikpeazu would have brought us. Uche in particular would have been handy in that last twenty minutes. However, we've still to get our internationals back, along with Mallan, Mikulic and Lloyd, so to dominate so much was pleasing. I'm sure with a full squad we'll have more of a threat. It also seems that Adama has found his shooting boots in Africa, so hopefully he brings them back with him. The lack of forward substitutions was evident today. I still think we're one short in that area. Again though, I realise it's not easy with two of your main strikers away. This was a chance for others to step up. I wouldn't say they did, but also wouldn't say they didn't, if that makes sense. I don't like doing it, but I keep comparing us to Celtic. Playing teams off the park, but they get the goals. Now, I know they have the money to buy players like Maeda, Kyogo and the like, but that type of clinical finishing is what we're missing. I mentioned in a previous post that I was told years ago that goal scorers are worth their weight in gold, which is obviously true, so it's difficult to compete in that area because every team wants them. We still managed to control the game without two of our main players, so you have to concentrate on the positives. We will face a lot of this kind of play against us this year as teams sit in for a point, so we'll need to find a way to break them down. McCarry One Nil and Cleveland-Saint 2 Quote
