Got to start winning again and hopefully this will the game where do it. It won’t be easy but fingers crossed. Hope all of you going tote game have big smiles on your faces at full time.

If you are in the main stand you always have a smile on your face at full time there as the blood starts to recirculate below the knees.

Baird and Sidibeh back in and probably a decision to be made about who plays with holt in the centre and who plays on the right of midfield. Would like to see Stanton and Franczak more involved even if not starting.

Simo’s system hinges on that being McAlear or Sprangler. Has to be someone who can take the ball in tight areas and protect it, keep it, and use it. Franczak or Stanton don’t fulfil that criteria for me.

Not suggesting Stanton or Franczak should be playing in the deeper midfield roles but Stanton is a central midfield option with different strengths that we could be using more and assume Simo must have had an idea of how he wanted to use him when he signed him a few months ago.

Id keep Boyes in. Last time against Morton they camped in and marked everyone out the game apart from Baird, who they left on the ball and who couldn't break them down at all. If they plan to do the same then Boyes negates that as hes better on the ball. Im not sure why we'd repeat the exact same mistake we'd already made.

Id argue Diabate was worse defensively than Boyes v Arbroath too.

In defence you need good defenders. Baird and Diabate are those. All they have to do is win the ball and pass it to midfield , hopefully without taking 3 or 4 touches before doing so.

It's up to midfield to find space just like it's up to the defence to defend.

When Morton are sat 30 yards from their own goal with all 11 men?

Its just not how it works really. There's limited space for midfielders to find, never mind what they can do once they get the ball.

Perhaps we try something new like use both wings!  Throw in crosses and the midfield can hopefully pick up the weak clearances and shoot, preferably on target.  Even Arsenal are looking to shoot not pass the ball into the net.

If we try to 'throw in crosses' the ref will surely blow for a foul and book or send our player off for deliberate handball????

We had 17 shots v County and 24 crosses, and still didn't score.
