Saints Direct/Shop down for Maintenance

For those planning on Saints Christmas presents, it looks like the Club Shop is down for maintenance. 

The good news is that I believe this is due to a change in provider and there are plans for an expanded range and, hopefully less/no supply issues and running out of stuff. 

Watch that space!

Hopefully there moving it tae a bigger area, was in few weeks back and disappointed wae what was on offer

Hopefully a better supplier. I was in the shop in town last week and was a bit embarrassed to see signs below the very limited merchandise saying 'sorry we cannot sell this' 

Person I was with commented who would open a shop with no stock.

High street rates are quite high and probably there is rent as well. If they have nothing to sell how are they going to cover that.

I visited the shop for the first time last week and left feeling the same. 6 weeks until Christmas and all that was on sale was a few mugs, some hats and the infamous Steve Bright Simo tshirt. Have noticed talk on social media that the club are in the process of changing suppliers of the clubs merchandise, so can only hope that is done soon and that the club gets more stock into shop as soon as possible.

Liked the museum part of the shop, but think they will need to do more to attract people into the shop. Perhaps worth considering doing things such as having meet and greets with players/Simo, bring along older players to give talks about their time with Saints etc.

The city centre shop just feels really odd. Nearly all the floor space is taken up by the huge desk in the middle of the room, and there's barely anything for sale in it. The shop at the stadium has loads more merch to browse through. Hopefully it's a teething issue and it'll get better but at the moment it just feels like a place you'd visit once to be nosey and then never go back inside again. The opening hours are a bit strange too (I think I tried visiting it two or three times before finally finding it open).

As a side-quibble, I really wish Saints would get some better winter hats in their range. I'd very happily pay more for a really good quality bobble hat but the Saints ones always seem a bit cheap and not really warm enough.

Shop website still down!

Saints put a post on the website on the 14th saying should be back up early in week(beginning 17th).

No great considering this is prime Christmas shopping time for folk. Surely have it back up for pay day.

I’m more concerned about the away top that I ordered on August 5th not having arrived yet, than ordering more stuff.

At this rate might get it for pre season. Asked when I was in the shop a couple of weeks ago and got the same line of end of the month.

Sincerely hope for varying reasons our deal with macron is at an end this season.

The club are now managing their own retail.

As a quick follow-up to this, very impressed to see Saints have done exactly what I asked for above, and brought out some really good, fleece-lined, nicely designed hats. For years the hats on sale have been really poor quality, so this is a big improvement.

It's only been a couple of months since the club took the merchandise in-house, but I think if you look around either of the club shops you can already see an improvement in some of the range. And hopefully that only gets better when we ditch Macron at the end of the season.
