If I remember correctly, Puma are usually quite restrictive in designs for the first year of a contract just to see sales levels etc.

After that, the world's yer oyster 😁

Compared to Joma/Macron, this is a massive step up.

Macron kit is decent quality.

Their main issue is with supply. Always seem to be playing catch up and never seem to have sufficient manufacturing capacity.....and their sizing is wild, especially the shorts.

I've always liked Puma gear, hoping for a simple design. Thin white vertical stripes and proper Saints blue.....and white shorts!

Agree on the quality from Macron. I have club issued kit, and personal Macron tops and the quality is excellent, especially in club issued kit now a few years old.

The issue with custom made kit is you're always looking at 12 weeks from ordering, of course, that's when the stockist decides to order it with Macron / chosen supplier.

They actually sit on a lot of stock for their catalogue range, generally high three figure amounts but often well into four or even five figures in each size and colour in certain products. This includes this season's match day / travel wear when it was out of stock on the Saints site - notably the Fiddle / Varsity jacket.

I ordered a couple items through ProKit at the start of January, and had them from Italy to ProKit, embellished and delivered in 18 days.

They were unusual in stock holding in this regard compared with most suppliers.

I don't know now but until relatively recently, in my personal experience, Puma never held great amounts in stock at any one time, and sometimes had longer lead times on products. This was for individuals and clubs to order, so they may work differently for affiliated clubs in keeping a separate allocation unlike Macron where the B2B listed the full inventory.

It should be back to being true to size with Puma, rather than going up one or two sizes with Macron, and looks like I will be back to L by the size guide instead of XXL as with Macron.

Never been a huge fan of Puma's designs but it's quite exciting to see us go with one of the better-known brands for a little change, and hopefully it'll mean a better range of extras like training tops etc. As long as the prices aren't hiked too much I can see there being a big increase in sales, with the novelty of being able to get some Saints Puma stuff appealing to people.

I'm hoping for a simple home kit of blue shirt, white shorts and white socks. With the away kit I always prefer us to go with something a bit more fun and unpredicatble, so I'd love us to steer away from the boring white/yellow/maroon stuff and give us something unexpected.

My experience of Macron seems to be different from other people's, as I thought their quality was awful. Several of the shirts I've had from them have had loads of messy, unfinished threads hanging all over the place, to the extent that they became the only one one of our kit suppliers I've ever felt the need to complain directly to. Plus, their sizing was all over the place. I definitely preferred Joma, in terms of quality, design and range.

Remember we had Adidas kit in 78/79 season if memory serves me correct. No badge which makes me think it was just a generic adidas strip not specifically manufactured for Saints.

So I’m sorry but I’ve switched, I was 100% blue tops ,white shorts and white socks until the year we did it and it looked horrible.

Im an 80s fan, it’s blue tops, white shorts , blue socks for me.

UNLESS The Famous Grouse want to sponsor us again, in which case add your sexy red sponsor and add a white bib plus blue shorts.

Blue socks with white tops. Less bothered by socks though but white shorts is a must.

I’m sure M&M was a multi year deal? Might be a back of shirt sponsor instead?

Indeed - the email was vague in saying the new one was a shirt sponsor but not where on it :)

https://www.perthstjohnstonefc.co.uk/news/article/mandm-to-be-our-new-front-of-jersey-sponsor/ says "The multi-year deal underscores the club’s commitment to long-term commercial growth, and we look forward to working closely with MandM."
