pezza70 Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 We have 8 more games to play so a maximum of 24 points for us Will we need more then say 76 points which means Partick will need to be almost perfect. I know one more point then the team that finishes runners up will do us but as we are getting down to the championship rounds it definitely more exciting thinking about winning the league compared to trying to stay up via the playoffs. pezza70 Posted March 11 Author Report Posted March 11 That’s brilliant I didn’t see the table but fingers crossed we get 77 points as a minimum Quote

If we get to that, then Thistle would need to win 7/9 of their remaining games and that is going to require them to suddenly find a way to win away from home. Equally for us to get to the 70 mark, we're going to need to win 4 and draw one out of our remaining 8 games, which would also mean we'd be losing the same amount in those 8 games as we've done all season. In my head, a win at Firhill all but seals it and it's then a formality. A draw or lose and we still know what we need to do and that's win half our games as a minimum. I've been confident we'd win the league from the first game of the season and I still am. Quote
Widge Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 Also worth noting if we repeat our form from the last 8 games, we pick up 15 points and as a result finish on 72 points. By comparison Partick pick up 13 and even if they win their game in hand, that leaves them on 65. Quote

Been wondering if this is a low points season - 70 feels low.... Quote

pezza70 Posted March 13 Author Report Posted March 13 Partick just beat Morton so hopefully we take the 3 points against RC to put the lead back to 8 points and keep the pressure on Partick. Quote

When & who is Fissel's re-arranged game? Apparently Watt took a decent knock v Morton... Quote
Mizfit Posted March 14 Report Posted March 14 Reading, Ashcroft and Watt all down with injuries last night. Could be them out this Friday night too. Quote

But Raith like Morton have nothing up front. Quote

Reading looked the worst of the 3, other 2 didn't look bad. Watt was going to take the penalty but was hooked. Ashcroft fell over like and old donkey and felt a twinge. Pity they'll sit deep against us as we'd have ripped them apart last night. Quote
McCarry One Nil Posted March 14 Report Posted March 14 The miss from Lyall in 93rd minute to make it 2-2 🙈 Never a sending off either. The Jags love a wee tumble with minimal contact in the box. dave mc 1 Quote

RandomGuy Posted March 14 Report Posted March 14 (edited) 3 wins from our next 7 games would mean Partick have to win 6 of their remaining 8 games to have any chance of finishing above us. Next week matters psychologically but we still have it in our hands regardless. Edited March 14 by RandomGuy MySpazz 1 Quote
mike_gain Posted March 14 Report Posted March 14 Essentially in think we "just" need 16 points from 7 games as that's takes us to 76, which Partick can't get past with their 8 games remaining. Sounds easy but very achievable....I also think Partick will drop more points at some point (hopefully Friday) MySpazz 1 Quote
MySpazz Posted March 14 Report Posted March 14 Each week, one less game to go, and the odds shorten. Mon the saints... Quote

What will also be significant is if (ok when) Partick secure 2nd spot. Do they contine the chase for 1st keeping momentum or rest the squad and accept dropping some points but have everyone fit, recharged for the play offs? Our rearranged Dunfermline match will also be interesting if it's before the semi-final. If that were Saints I'm sorry I'd sacrifice the league for the very real chance of a result against Falkirk and rest everyone. Quote
Mizfit Posted March 15 Report Posted March 15 Don’t they usually play the fixture after the semi final? Not sure if I’d prefer to play them before or after the semi tbh. Quote

However we just get on and win our next 4 I firmly believe the Pars fixture won't matter anyway. Quote
