Hopefully an unchanged side.

Would imagine County will pack the defence. Hope we don't try to walk the ball in. A few of our guys have a good shot on them so hopefully a few shots from outside the box and a deflection off the many legs in the box.

Yeah don't see any point changing the defence anymore.

Midfield probably picks itself aswell now. Had thought Gullan might benefit from not starting games but next 4 games are so important and we struggled without him v Morton really so you just use him now.

Up front you wonder if Paton being more physical than Fowler sways things his way or if he prefers whats Fowler or Lloyd brings.

Hopefully, if he goes the same team he's given McPake and others a rollicking as Lloyd seems to have the ability to find space and was open, through on goal.  How many more could we have had if they weren't so selfish?  So heavily defended no chance of a goal so pass don't shoot.

Can't win really. Personally, I get frustrated when they continually pass the ball in the box instead of someone just giving the ball a good old-fashioned leather from anywhere outside the box

Yeah entirely up to ourselves at this late stage. Partick clearly arent going away so theres no point overthinking it.

Just make sure you win today and thats another game ticked off without them getting closer, and games are running out.

From The Courier:

St Johnstone will hold a minute’s applause in memory of the fan who died at McDiarmid Park last month.

David Paterson passed away outside the stadium after the Saints clash with Ayr United on February 28.

Police sealed off an area outside the football ground on Crieff Road shortly after the Perth club’s 3-1 win.

A short time later, the club announced the supporter had died aged 65.

A minute’s applause will be in his honour during St Johnstone’s match against Ross County on Saturday.

A short statement by the club read: “There will be a minute’s applause in minute 65 of tomorrow’s game in memory of Saints supporter David Paterson.“

David sadly passed away following our match against Ayr United on February 28. He was 65.

“Family members will be in attendance, and our thoughts remain very much with them.”

To me it looks like McPake is already overthinking and is a lot less instinctive as a result compared to what we saw at the start of the season.

We have to let our forward creative players have some freedom!

If there is any doubt about McPakes fitness I would keep him on the bench and make sure he is fit for next Friday.

Randel is likely to crock him anyway.

Fotheringham, Foulds and Lloyd may well feel hard done by.

That said, feels like our best 11 football players on the pitch.

Tinkerman just can't leave it alone. At least he hasn't brought back Forrester.

comfortable (and critical) win, tight game/not many chances, thought ref was poor in his handling of dirty county, a clear penalty also ignored. End result all that matters, deep bench showing its worth.

attendance: 4223 - sounded boisterous !

First half should have been 4-0.

Second half, lucky it wasn't a draw.

We scored from a shot from outside box and never tried it again in the game.

Should have made subs earlier. Seems to think there are only 11 or 12 players he can trust. Maybe he is right.

That was tough to watch. Still three points all important.

Thought Paton lacked real support and was quiet. McPake was trying too hard....we could do with trying something else a time or two rather than keeping giving it to him almost all the time.

For a full back who can score, Smith is really difficult to watch....almost always its a ball back rather keeping on the front foot.

A tough, tough, game. Almost nothing you can do to be entertaining against a side who are playing 8 men back and just firing endless balls up to their massive striker while wrestling anyone in blue who moves.

Staggered we never got a penalty for Paton being clattered as hes about to tap in, even more staggered there was no red card at all.

A win all that mattered and thats what we got.

Strange match, we really were comfortable and dominated....but still feels a really hard fought win.

Ref was all over the place, County lucky to have 11 on the pitch, Stanton took some smack in front of the GB stand.

Thought Stanton and Parton were excellent (would love to see Paton play just in front of Fowler).

Baird, Diabate and Boyes were good, former 2 gave very little to County's giants very little. Smith was ok too but nearly got us into trouble a couple of times.

We played some good stuff but quicker play will be needed on Friday.

Was a pleasure seeing Kettlewell absolutely loose it with the ref after his players collapsing legs strategy stopped working. County should have enough to stay up.....but they'll need to be better than that every week.
