C.U.Jimmy Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 A Scottish record we’ve held for no less than 50 years could finally be taken out of our hands by the end of this season. The fuddy-duddies amongst us will still recall the horror show that was the 1975/76 season where we managed 3 wins in 36 outings. A record that still stands to this day for Scotland’s top division. Over to you, Livvy. Havana Saint, california_saintee and garydavidson 3 Quote
garydavidson Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 That is a cracking stat, so bad but excellent none the same Quote
PSJ.84 Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 What is the record they’re supposed to be breaking here? Quote

Graeme S Posted April 9 Report Posted April 9 I'm not a statto as we all know 😂 thus was just translating what you didn't appear to understand. Don't be coy, don't keep us in suspense, tell us what the OP got wrong and myself, by extension...... PSJ.84 1 Quote
PSJ.84 Posted April 9 Report Posted April 9 Ayr only managed one win in 1966/67. Whether or not that’s the definitive lowest I’m not 100% sure. Graeme S 1 Quote
Graeme S Posted April 9 Report Posted April 9 OK, looks like you and the OP are both right then - I'll assume the OP was considering results in a league called the Premier Division, so Saints would hold that record so far right? Your Ayr start would relate to the old First (top) Division 👍 Quote
HALLS ANGEL Posted April 9 Report Posted April 9 Ayr’s only win in 1966/1967 against Saints at Somerset Park 8th April 1967. Same day as Sandie Shaw won the Eurovision and Foinavon won the Grand National. Graeme S 1 Quote

Not looked into how many wins teams have had in seasons under 40 games really. Quote

Lubolzer Posted April 9 Report Posted April 9 Ayr United only played 34 games that season. If they had played 36 games they may well have lost 3 games instead of one. Livi will play 38 games this season so does anything even count. These things are sent to mince your mind. Quote
Lubolzer Posted April 10 Report Posted April 10 The highlight of those 3 wins was a 2-0 gubbing of Aberdeen at Muirton Park on a wednesday night under the floodlights. Correct me if I am wrong. Quote
