Nessie
Chait : example would be man #1 - your breath smells like your wifes arse... man #2 - shut it ya chate.. Barry: example would be Man#1 - I won £2.5million on the lottery last night Man#2 - brilliant, that's pure barry min.

Nessie
Barry and Chait were both words that were used when I was at school in blair in the 90's...we were talking about words that were used to describe things when we were younger and it got me to thinking.... it maybe these words were only used in blair, Barry might be a dundee thing. I found both in the urban dictionary along with the word ged.... Although Chait's meaning has changed slightly... in my days is was a derogotary word.. mods feel free to delete this thread if you want. Dooj
Never heard 'chate'. When I was at school, only folk from Embra used 'barry'.
TheBigCheese
I've always associated 'barry' with Embra too as in the classic banner seen at a McD once "Hearts are Barry" which I never figured out until I read Trainspotting a few years later. Never heard chait either. Ged is a fine word though, as is 'doss' meaning good, only erstwhile forumite Benjo and his family seem to still use that one. Nessie
Gadgie: up here this just means bloke, but in blair it meant a smelly person. butchered: as in wasted/drunk but it also gets used for having sex... I 'butchered' that girl I trapped last night. trap: to pull a bird or bloke.... teabagging: to dunk your bawbag in your traps' mouth. Nessie
My favourite word is still that most undesirable c word, ****. "HOOO you ya ****in daaaaaftie" which brings me to the most offensive drink in the world (allegedly) the **** pump: a bloody mary served with (an unused) tampon in it instead of celery...the idea is that the tammy soaks up the drink and you have to suck it out of the aforementioned tammy. Noose76
Sounds tasty, minus the bloody mary.

Phil
Barry and Chait were both words that were used when I was at school in blair in the 90's.. Blair has it's own weird language. Learnt that from living with pure uber ged during uni. Barry I know of but Chait's new to me.
