  1. They made 6 changes to the team who beat BSC the previous week but take nothing away from us they were still a quality side who will be challenging for promotion to League 2 this season. Those who came in still had plenty of League 1 & League 2 experience.
  2. Final score 3-0 to Jeanfield. Took a while to kill off the game after scoring early but its been 3 wins from 3 so far but need to be more clinical in front of goal. Good to see a few newcomers coming through the gate. Hopefully enjoyed it and come back soon.
  3. Not going down to Kilmarnock this weekend? Then get on down to Riverside Stadium as Jeanfield play their first home match as a senior club when Leith Athletic visit. This is Swifts final game of our League Cup Section of which we have qualified from after 2 wins away from home over Bo'ness & Oakley. Kick off is at 2.30pm with entry at £6 & kids go free. A list of league fixtures (which we have until the end of March!!) will be available from the tea hut. Hope to see you there.
  4. Bored tomorrow night and looking for something to do? Jeanfield entertain Luncarty at the Riverside with 7.15 kick off. Swifts have this season signed 3 ex Saints players. Chris Dodd returns from Elgin City while Connor McLaren & Paul Simpson have joined up from Montrose & Berwick.
  5. Jeanfield Swifts have today issued our application to join the East of Scotland League for season 2018/2019. Given the uncertainty surrounding the future of the East Region Super League, and the growing number of teams applying to join the pyramid system, we have made the decision with the best interests of the club in mind. Our future plans and focus on building ourselves into a strong, sustainable community club align well with the SFAs's pyramid system and we are hopeful the East of Scotland League committee see us as being a valuable addition to the league and accept our application. Once a decision has been made we will issue a further statement.
  6. Jeanfield 6 Forfar West End 0 Comfortable win for Swifts in a game they dominated from start to finish. Kiffy Scott, Tony Holt & Rhys Davies with 4 were the scores on a cold and wet night at the Riverside.
  7. Linlithgow & Boness are keen to join pyramid but I believe their committees are split on the decision. The EOSFL have left room in their leagues for late applicants so we may well see them join too
  8. Bonnyrigg Rose Camelon Hill of Beath Musselburgh Haddington Tranent Edinburgh United Easthouses Lily Dalkeith Thistle Blackburn United Dunipace Crossgates Primrose Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts (a new amatuer team) have also joined the EOSFL
  9. The 12 clubs have joined the East of Scotland Football League which is classed as tier 6 just below the Highland and Lowland Leagues. The winners of this league, if licensed, played the winners of the South of Scotland League also if they are licensed for a place in the Lowland League. Kelty Hearts who won the Super League last season then joined the EOSFL (There is no direct promotion) won the league and are currently 4-0 up in the play off and looking good for the Lowland League next season. The plan is for the juniors to merge with the EOSFL and become one but if that will happen we don’t know. Jeanfield are in a weird place as we are right on the boundary line for Highland and Lowland League which is currently the River Tay!!! To play in the Lowland League you need to have a SFA Entry Level Licence. We do not have this but it is something we will look to have in the near future. However to apply for this you must become part of the SFA pyramid structure. With the licence comes entry to the Scottish Cup and possible match v Saint etc if we manage to get through 5 or so rounds. Our committee was not too keen to go ahead whoever they are leaving the club at the end of the season and the new people are keen for the club to progress in the pyramid and the benefits that will come with it. Fort were planning to return to the North Caledonian League which is below the Highland League however no teams get promoted as its a closed shop. Hope this helps as it is quite confusing at times.
  10. Looking for a football fix tomorrow? Jeanfield entertain Forfar West End at the Riverside Stadium in which a win could help Swifts survival hopes and at the same time it could technically relegate or visitors. Only technically as East Region Junior football is under going league reconstruction as 12 teams have left the league to join the pyramid structure & despite having 4 games left no one actually knows what is happening yet. It is planned that the remaining clubs will be integrated at the end of the 2018/2019 season but we will have to see if that is the case. Kick off is 6.45pm if anyone is interested in coming down.
  11. Jeanfield play their 1st home game since November this weekend when they entertain Scottish Cup favourites Beith at Riverside Stadium this Saturday. Beith won the national trophy in 2016 defeating Pollok on penalties and are once again ranked as one of the teams to be in the mix. We have been advised that they are bring 2 supporters buses up and we would like to have a large home support to make it more of an away game not a home game for them. Kick off is 1.45pm & entry is £6.
  12. Looking for a football fix this weekend? Jeanfield entertain fellow Super Leaguers Kennoway in the 1st Round of East of Scotland Cup. Both teams are in bottom 4 of the league and coming off home defeats last week. They met earlier in the season and drew 2-2 as Kennoway came from 2 goals down to level late against 9 man Swifts. Kick off is at 2.30 and penalties will be required if level after 90 minutes.
  13. Dont want to sit in house & watch Dumpdee derby on telly?? Get on down to Riverside Stadium as Jeanie entertain Dundonald Bluebell in game number 2 of our Super League season. Swifts started with a 2-2 draw at Broxburn on Saturday thanks to a last minute worldy from Kiffy Scott. The Bell lost 2-0 down at Newtongrange & will be looking to get back on track asap. Kick off is at 6.45 and its £6 entry and the pies are top notch.
  14. 2 1 win for Jeanie guarantees Super League football for another season
  15. This saturday why not head down to Riverside Stadium as Jeanie entertain Musselburgh in a massive game for both side. 3 points for either side will confirm Super League survival. This is musseys last game while Swifts will have 2 games left after this against Bonnyrigg and Linlithgow. Kick off is 2.30pm and your support would be greatly appreciated as Perth looks to keep a team in the top junior league.
  16. Finished 4 each at a windy Riverside today. Result doesnt suit either team but with draws for teams around us it wasnt too bad.
  17. We are currently just above the relegation play off place and are at home to 2nd bottom Newtongrange Star this weekend. Massive game for both clubs as we are 5 points ahead with 2 games in hand.
  18. This Saturday Swifts welcome Lochee United to Riverside Stadium for the Super League clash. Swifts win at Camelon last weekend has moved them out of the relegation play off position but the season is far from finished. With Saints in the Highland capital on Saturday why not pop down and cheer on Perths only Super League side as they look to remain in the top league. Games at Riverside are averaging 5 goals this season so entertainment is normally guaranteed. Kick off is at 2.30pm and the players would appreciate your support.
  19. 4 goals shared in opening 15 minutes as Swifts come from 2 down to claim a point in the Riverside sunshine. Robbie Holden and Stevie McManus were the Swifts scorers
  20. At a loose end tomorrow? Get on down to Riverside Stadium as Swifts entertain Panmure in a vital game as the home side battle for Super League survival. Swifts have been involved in several high scoring games this season and normally guarantee goals and excitement. Kick off is at 2.30pm. Hope to see you down. Come on Jeanie
  21. Six goals shared. Jeanie raced into a 2 goal.lead at the break but had to level the game late on to claim a share on the points
  22. Not heading up to Dingwall? Then head on down to Riverside Stadium to cheer on Jeanfield Swifts as they look to get a win that will hopefully kick start their season. Swifts are currently 2nd bottom and with 14 games left they need to start picking up points quickly starting tomorrow. Get on down & support Perths Super League Club Kick off is at 2.15pm
  23. Why not get rid of the hangover from tonight game by popping down to Riverside Stadium tomorrow for the Super League clash between Jeanfield Swifts & Fauldhouse United. Both teams are at the wrong end of the league & a win will help their chances of staying in it. The last time the 2 teams played was in 2014 as both teams were going for promotion to Super League. It was quite an eventful 90 minutes with 4 Fauldhouse players being sent off along with a member of their coaching staff. The local Police force were also called to help the referee get out of the ground as Swifts won 4-2. There is normally a vocal support that comes up with the visitors so it would be good to have some of you down too help shut them up!!! Kick off is 2pm.
  24. Swifts entertain St Andrews tomorrow in the 2nd round of the Scottish Junior Cup. Swifts replaced their opponents in the Super League this season and the Fife side will be coming to Riverside looking for revenge. With no Saints game until sunday why not pop down & cheer on Swifys as they look to progress to the next round of the national trophy. Kick off is at 2.30pm
