  1. Beach end min, how long is it since you've been to Pittodrie. Away fans have not been in the Beach End for years.
  2. I was genuinely interested to know. Didn;t realise they ran out of tickets, that's shocking. As for the worst ground, we are far from that, you've clearly not visited all the SPFL grounds. As for Police Scotland, I agree, they have gone totally overboard, especially since the Rangers Hearts night game last year. As I said, they had horses for the midweek game v Hamilton when they had 20 fans. Totally outwit Aberdeen's control and that is a Police Scotland issue All the best on your trip and experience today, hope it is far better. I'll be there to see a Dons victory ;o)
  3. We are as frustrated as you with regards to the new stadium. I think they are now looking at revamping Pittodrie to get permission since the new stadium has apparently fallen through. Incidentally, there's no way the Old Firm are moving to England..... unfortunately
  4. I agree the G4S stewards can be shocking at times, maybe learn how you can act and force them to do their rules. I recall being at a game in Dundee, where a steward was walking along the back of the stand and swinging past the metal beams over the tops of fans heads. I informed him that if he did it again, I would report him and the club for breach of Health and Safety rules. Another option is to get the crowd to chant something in unison like Traffic Warden, Traffic Warden as it derides them and makes them realise they cannot take on hundreds of fans Best of luck for your enjoyment at today's game, I hope a lot of the issues are sorted, but hopefully that we obviously get the win. Happy for you to take your scalps off of Celtic to keep the league interesting.
  5. Charming. I think you were missing my point, in that the complaints you were making are seen everywhere and not directed solely to you St J fans I was merely expressing empathy. As to never going back, that's your choice, you don;t fill out the allocation anyway, but I would not let the stadium impact my decision to support my team. Incidentally, there are many Aberdeen fans who are looking forward to a new stadium / revamped Pittodrie as we recognise it time for an upgrade. Bit easier to do for a small stadium like yours and maybe your not old enough to remember Muirton park. Pittodrie was the pioneering stadium at one stage, the first all seater stadium in Britain, but we acknowledge it's time to be improved. It will happen at some point. It comes across that you have not been to many of the top flight stadiums. Have you been to New Douglas Park? Plan for it then, put on an extra layer, surely your team deserves more loyal support Good on you, see past the niggles and support your team whatever. 1-0 is my guess, maybe more if you are injury hit Shouldn't happen mate, AFC employ a guy with a Falcon to fly over the South Stand and keep the gulls away Go get some experience and support your team at other grounds.
  6. LAUGH OUT LOUD, no what makes you think that? We don't believe we have any devine right to win anything. I would;t be so cocky if my team had only one Scottish Cup and a half dozen lower league titles, especially as you have been around for 20 years more than us. Your having a laugh aren't you. Aberdeen fans being Dormant.........are you for real? To put into context and clarity, we probably do have more Dormant fans than your average home attendance, let alone fans that travel. All the best today if you come up, but hoping you guys back to Perth with 0 points today Most St J fans on here have been very good, I'm taking your the aberration
  7. I reiterate, I guess you've not been to many away games, certainly not against the top sides. Stuck in that corner - more space given than Celtic, Rangers, Hearts Caged in - Hardly, there's a fence to separate the away fans from the home fans. The same fence the home fance are "caged in" with Restricted view - What restricted view? The fence, the same fence that the South Stand Home Fans sit next to. You should try going to Celtic park and getting restricted view behind a piller disorganised overzealous stewarding - No argument here, but same for home fans seating blocked off - LAUGH OUT LOUD, seating next to the fence that gives you a retricted view. Which do you want. Do you not realise that Celtic, Rangers, Hearts all have seating clocked off too to seperate fans insufficient catering - Same for home fans, but in fairness, hard to cater for unknown quantities. insufficient toilets - Same for home fans, although we get by. expensive overcomplicated ticketing arrangements - explain more, what's so complicated about it? apart from that it's a lovely experience - Glad you enjoyed it, please come again. Seriously though, how many fans do you bring? Maybe if you had a greater following support, the club could consider making improvements
  8. Is it pay at he gate? I'm surprised. Can you not get your ticket in advance. Aberdeen recently upgraded to allow print from home tickets (certainly for home side, although never tried for the away side) P.S. Mcdiarmid park is not the easiest to get out of either ;o), many a time I've queued for ages to get out of the car park and onto the motorway Yes, don't take a drum. I absolutely detest drums at games. Livi seemed to have started it years ago and is not condusive to a good atmosphere. Actually, it's used by teams to try and create more noise because the fans are failing to do so and I include Aberdeen's signing section with that too.
  9. nice one, I'll be sure to make sure he gets this if your premonitions come true for the next time we play you. I'm sure the'll already have something planned about how strong and resilient you were to come back from 1 down to beat Utd with 10 men. He'll relate this to you being storng like Aberdeen were against Celtic and the need to be up for the game from the start and to make sure we take advantage of the home game and be clinical in front of goals. Some of the things DM has said this year is certainly Fergiesque and demonstrates he has developed his leadership and motivational capabilities.
  10. If he maintains his current form than maybe he won;t see out the two years, however, realistically, you only have a year to sort out a contract extention as he would be free to sign on a pre-contract next winter. If your to cash in on him, it would be this winter or at the summertime in the worst case
  11. I don;t think I will need to. DM was with Sir Alex Ferguson last night who was discussing various motivational methods he has deployed over the years. I'd hope that he has added to his own methods and has plenty in the bank for tomorrow game.
  12. Probably not, but a lot of factors may fall into place which makes it a good option: - 1) Is TW still the manager of St Johnstone? 2) Will Aberdeen have sold McGinn / Hayes and have some money to offer for O'Halloran? 3) Will he receive a better offer down south that he takes? or not? The likelyhood may be slim, we've not sign a St J player since Doddsy I think, but it is not inconceivable that everything could fall into place and make the transfer happen. I can't believe we managed to sign Shinnie, he certainly could play at a much higher level, but it all fell into place for him to join this summer
  13. Taking both of the above into account, I'm sorry if you had a bad experience, I don;t think that the stewards or the police project a positive image. I recall one Aberdeen v Rangers game, where I was singing "The Flower of Scotland" for obvious reasons and a young "Glaswegian" police officer told me to stop singing sectarian songs or I would be lifted. I promptly pointed out to his superior that he did not have a clue what he was trying to "police". He was promptly moved to another area. It was the folly of my youth, but I did start a period of singing "traffic warden, traffic warden" to some over officious police who were losing control. I've seen similar incidents with stewards who try to insist on over officious stewarding. Often it comes down to poor training and experience in my opinion. I remember the most forceful policiing I ever witnessed was in Germany when we played Hertha Berlin. These guys were Brutes, all about 7 feet tall and would not engage in any friendly engagements at all. We were literally sheppherd from the town to the ground and back again afterwards. I wouldn't let a few numpties stop me from going to away games or supporting my team though. As for the facilities, yes, Pittodrie is not the most modern stadium at the moment, although at one time it was pioneering. There has been a long discussion about moving home and building a new stadium, but we are still waiting and now I believe they might be looking at simply renovating Pittodrie now. The food stalls are pretty basic and often run out of food. I would argue that you actually get the better deal of those sitting in the South Stand as you have much shorter queues due to the quantity of travelling support you bring. I could probably nit pick about many grounds around Scotland, however that's just part of the experience of an away day. Hope you bring as much as you can, else the club may look to restrict the away support seating further.
  14. Why thank you. There's no point in joining an opposition forum just to stir things up. I do think its good to have a bit of discussion and debate and maybe a wee bit of banter as it heightens the anticipation for the weekend game. Of course, we may not agree on some things, but thats opinions and we are all entitled to them. I'm hoping you bring a good support up tomorrow, it's a great game and we pick up the three points
  15. Dinna worry, I'll be moving on to Ross County on Sunday. If they have a forum that is Statistically, your probably correct as there are not many options north of Perth and far more southwards. I don't believe in ruling anything realistic out however. MOH is certainly a player from St Johnstone that we think could easily fit into the team setup and formation at Aberdeen. Don;t worry though. we won't be splashing out massively for him, so he'll only end up at Pittodrie if the circumstances all fall into place
  16. The alleged rumours was that Gillhous turned up extremely late and McLeish had a rant at him and allegedly Smith. The rumour went on that McLeish insisted that if gillhouse played that game, then he would not. McLeish then pulled up in the warm up. The rumour also mentioned that Bett was involved. Pity as it turned out we had a great opportunity to win the league that year and to feck it up with stupid infighting in a game seems ludicrous.
  17. What does the club do to manage the fans, it's generally outsourced to G4S and the police. Certainly the Dons fans also complain enough about Police Scotland (apparently there was mounted police for the midweek Hamilton game where there was only 20 away fans). They really seemed to up the manning after the Rangers v Hearts fiasco last season.
  18. The haar is pretty bad this morning and evening, not sure of the weather forecast for Saturday. By hospitality, do you mean you weren't in the away end? I'm genuinely interested to know what the issue. I was at the game also in the South Stand just along from the away end and can;t recall anything of note. I just remember it being a pretty dour end of season game where we thought your goal came from an offside position but actually was a very good worked goal.
  19. Who are you referring to as the "Most Successful Team in the World Ever Ever Ever God Save the Queen" Sounds like they liquidated in 2012 and you merely beat a diddy team from the lower leagues
  20. I don't think anyone denies that. Individuals do not make a team though, that needs to be molded by the management team. Back to players though, I note McGinn is contracted until 2017, same with O'Halloran. Could we see McGinn move on with O'Halloran an able replacement with SPFL experience. He'd only be 26 by then
  21. I really can't see Wright going to Utd. It would be like Butcher leaving ICT for Hibs. He is doing a very good job though and you would expect him at some point to be tempted elsewhere. Right now, I could envisage him taking over Northern Ireland after the European championships, with Michael O'Neil getting an offer elsewhere
  22. Guys, statistics and history aside, what's your predictions for Saturday? How many fans do you think will come up as well?
