  1. Jeanie 1 Penicuik 0 Last minute thunderbolt from McManus. http://www.stemsweb.co.uk/ersjfa/Default.asp for latest results, tables and fixtures winning goal
  2. With Saints not playing United until sunday why not head down to the Riverside to get your saturday football fix. Both teams go into the game in good form with Swifts picking up 2 great wins on the road and Penicuik beginning to show why they will be challenging for the title at the end of the season. Come along and supports the Swifts Kick off is 1.30PM and its £5/£2 to get in.
  3. 6-1 win for Swifts with Gavin Mackie2, Chris Anton, Jamie Reid, Robbie Holden and an og getting the goals
  4. Yes it is. They are based in Pumpherston village just outside Livingston
  5. With no Saints game this week why head down to the Riverside Stadium and watch Gavin Prices Jeanfield Swifts host bottom of the table Pumphertson United. Swifts are now finding there feet under the new manager and are playing some really good football just now and are hoping to get 3 points from the game to move into the top half of the league and keep up our promotion hopes. Kick off is 2pm, entry is £5 It will be better than going christmas shopping!!!!!
  6. Jeanie 1 Kirrie 0 Jeanfield recoreded a deserved win with a Aaron Whitehead goal on half time after his original penalty had been saved.
  7. With Saints playing the fake Saints tomorrow at Paisley why not come down and support 1 of Perths other Premier league outfits. Jeanfield entertain Kirrie Thistle at Riverside Stadium is a match that both clubs will be looking to win. Swifts home form has been poor this season with only 1 win and 1 draw from 7 games compared to only 3 defeats at Riverside in the previous 2.5 years!!! Kirrie started well this season but have tailed off a bit but will be looking to prey on Swifts lack of confidence at home this season. Jeanie will have strongest squad available this season with only the long term injured pair of Ross Gunnion and Tony Holt not available to manager Gavin Price. Kick off is at 2.30 and its £5/£3 entry.
  8. SO THEY ARE. GOT MY GAMES MIXED UP
  9. With Saints away at Inverness tomorrow why not come down to Riverside Stadium and watch Jeanfield begin the defense of the GA Engineering Cup that we have won for the last 2 seasons. Forfar West End provide the opposition in what should be a keenly contested match. Jeanfield will be looking to get back to winning ways after losing to John Brogans Yoker Athletic in Scottish Cup last week. New Swifts boss Gavin Price has already added Richard Doig, Chris Anton, Sean Burton & Chris Webster to his sqauad since taking over with Anton set to make his debut tomorrow and Webster returns to Swifts after a 15 year abscene. Kick off is at 2.30 and the game goes straight to penalties if it finishes level. Jeanfield Swifts AFC are also at home tomorrow and they kick off at 2pm so you can watch 30 mins of that match before heading in to watch the Swifts. Or do what mad Beryl used to do and stand at the gate and watch both. Hope to see you there tomorrow
  10. Ex saintee Gavin Price has been appointed the new manager of Jeanfield Swifts suceeding Scott Brown who resigned last week. Gavin crosses the Fair City divide to move to the Riverside after 3 seasons at Kinnoull where he won the Central League last season and reached final of East of Scotland Cup and last 16 of Scottish the previous season. Gavins first game is a trip to Bathgate where he lost 6-1 earlier this season while still manager of Kinnoull
  11. Sorry, made a wee error when posting. Kinnoull play 3 times winners Tayport at Tulloch while Jeanfield welcome Yoker Athletic to the Riverside on Saturday 28 September. Yokers trip to North Muirton means a return to Perth for Saints all time top scorer John Brogan who currently manages the west coast side. Luncarty have pulled out the tie of the round as they visit west coast giants Pollok
  12. Perths big 2 have both been given home ties in the 1st round of the national competition.
  13. Just a few meaty tackles and some poor decisions from a poor referee, Nothing too exciting. Bit early in the season for trouble
  14. Crowd looked decent from the dugouts anyway id say between 100 and 150
  15. Finished 0-0 Typical derby game with frantic pace and tackles flying about. Jeanie had better chances in first 20 mins and should have scored but Kinnoull cotrolled game after that even when Dodd was sent off for 2 bookings before half time. 2nd half was similar with both teams trying to win and spaces created but nothing came of it. Jeanies Dobie received a straight red for a kick out at an opponent. Overall point was fair result although both teams will feel that they could have won it. Next up for Jeanie is Arniston Rangers at Riverside on Saturday while Kinnoull travel to West Lothian to play Bathgate Thistle.
  16. Forget England v Scotland there is only 1 derby this week and that is on tuesday at Riverside Stadium where Jeanfield Swifts entertain Kinnoull. Both teams drew opening games today with Swifts losing a disputed last minute penalty to draw 2-2 with title favourites Fauldhouse and Kinnoull had a 1-1 with Dalkeith Thistle. Kick off is at 7pm and entry is £5 for what should be a competitive derby
  17. Cant announce who has left yet but it will become knowledge soon. Only 1 is a great loss but that is work related. MySpazz we have been in contact with several of these but waiting on answer as they most likely want to play senior plus we dont pay great wages due to community club thing.
  18. Due to being a community club we cannot have a bar etc as it will be seen to be making money. I doubt that you would be able to buy anything as commitee dont do much to raise income despite numerous proposals put forward from others
  19. Luncarty have several local business men put some money into them. They have a new manager who was ex swifts and he has offered most of our squad deals. They were all offered a weekly wage and better than what we pay to play at level lower than what swifts are at. Most have stayed but 5 have moved although 1 was work related
  20. Yes we are looking for players but we are not desperate. No point in bringing in players who are not as good as those currently there. Having lost 5 to big spending luncarty we need to add more quality to squad not just anybody.
  21. Last night Jeanfield added the ACA Sports League Cup to the GA Cup that was won on Saturday. A Fraser Mills goal 4 minutes from time gave Swifts a 1-0 victory over Super League Kelty Hearts in the final played at Oakley. This is the 2nd double in 2 years after last seasons League and GA Cup double. We still have a semi final of East of Scotland Cup away to Bonnyrigg Rose on Saturday in the hunt for a treble!!! We can only hope. This has been a good season for Swifts as we reached last 16 of Scottish Cup only to lose to finalists Linlithgow Rose.
  22. Swifts retain cup with 3-0 victory. 2 goals from John Anderson either side of a Gavin Mackie goal won us the cup. Robbie Holden who set up 2 of the goals was named man of the match. Next up for swifts is yet another cup final. This time super league Kelty Hearts provide opposition at Oakleys Blairwood Park on wednesday night in the ACA League Cup Final
  23. Looking for a game to go to this saturday while waiting for Champions League Final? Well Jeanfield Swifts look to defend there GA Cup against newly promoted Montrose Roselea at Whitton Park, Arbroath Road, Dundee. Jeanie are holders having defeated North Region Culter in last years final with a John Anderson Hattrick. The teams have met twice this season in the Scottish Cup with a 1-1 draw at Montrose with Swifts winning the replay 5-0 at Riverside. Since then Roselea have lost just once and that was a title decider to Kirrie Thistle on Saturday but they have since clinched promotion to East Region Premier where they will join Swifts and probably Kinnoull who are set to win there league. Kick off is at 2.30pm and i hope to see some of you there to support the Swifts. There may be a bus going through but if you are interested then please contact the club via the deatils on the website. This is the first of 2 finals for Swifts as next wednesday we play Kelty Hearts in ACA Fife League Cup final at Blairwood Park, Oakley. http://www.clubwebsite.co.uk/jeanfieldswifts01/237368/Home
  24. 4 2 win for jeanie over league leaders. Goals from Mackie and Holden had Swifts 2 up at the break. Star pulled 1 back within a minute of the restart but 2 John Anderson goals in as many minutes had Swifts in control. A red card for Holden and a late Nitten goal couldnt stop swifts getting revenge for an earlier defeat.
  25. Jeanie entertain Newtongrange Star @ Riverside Stadium today with a 2.30pm Kick off. Jeanie will be looking to revenge a 5-0 defeat to Nitten earlier in the season. Nitten are 19 points clear @ the top of the East Premier League and are odds on for promotion to the Super League. They play with 2 very good wingers and are strong right down the middle of the park with several ex SFL players in there ranks Pitch was in perfect condition last night and hopefully the wind will die down although both are good footballing sides and will have to play ball on the deck in these conditions. Hope to see many of you there today hoping that junior football can take your attension away from the poor result last night. Sorry for the late post but was waiting on confirmation that the game was on. Admission £5/£2 - Kick off 2.30PM COME ON JEANFIELD, COME AWAY THE SWIFTS
