  1. I drove through from Stirling. Got to the ground early enough to be about tenth in line at the turnstile. Stood for ages. Policeman told us there was an electrical problem with the turnstiles (!?) and that they were fixing it. After a while he was seen to be listening to his earpiece and then told a few of us at the front the game was postponed. Then we find out the real reason. No point writing to the match commander or anyone else in the police - all you will get back is a patronising statement reiterating the importance of health and safety and the attendant risks of holding a match in a poorly lit stadium, and how it presented further difficulties in moving to another stand. It would not in any way address the complaint cos they will simply stick to their pathetic excuses. I am adult enough to decide for myself what represents a risk to my health or safety, and this one doesn't come near to a risk. Stupid.

  2. It's amazing what you pick up when you read things properly.

Clyde's programme has been Scottish Programme of the Year since 1995/96 and Divisional programme of the Year since 1991/92 (unless those are misprints).

Where do Saints sit in the programme league (relegation spot)?

Where are we in the pie league? (mid table)?

Where are we in the tea/coffee league? (third division - I always say 'Coffee please, cos the tea's rubbish! even the coffee's pre packed garbage, but that's another thread!)?

Where are we in the dodgy keeper league? (challenging for the top)?

Where are we in the injury prone league? (challenging for the top)?

Where are we in the suspensions league (top half - thanks to MMM)?

And if you think this is all a bit too frivolous, just remember that all of these things, along with many others, combine to give the 'St Johnstone experience'.

How could the 'St Johnstone experience' be improved upon (apart from starting to win games by playing silky, entertaining football)?

  3. I do appreciate your comment and largely agree with your points. I get no satisfaction from some of the displays we have had over the seasons, I just got this voice in my head saying it'll be better next week...

I am however receiving treatment for my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and between therapy and blind faith in SJFC its costing me a fortune

Thanks for that Scott, it made me laugh and goodness knows I could do with a laugh after Saturday.

  4. I'll be there :D

I dont care if we are sh*t

I dont care if there are SEEMINGLY better ways to spend my cash

I dont care that I am going to have to leave Dundee and Drive past my house to get to Glasgow and then drive back to Perth after, quite probably, another humping from a team that couldnt lick our boots last season.

So what dya expect me to do, gie up supporting them coz we have had 4 crap performances?!

One thing is for certain we may be bad now but I guarantee we will get a whole lot worse if folk start giving up at this very early stage. Players are getting a kicking on here but what about the Fickle fans?

Support them or dont its up to you but if everybody stops going where is the money for the 'Killer' signing coming from? (You know the one everybody is screaming for on other threads).

We are a small team with big ideas, lets try not to forget that.

    We are Perth

    We are SJFC

Thick or Thin, Better or Worse

    Keep the Faith!

I wasn't just talking about these last four games. Try last four seasons, apart from last year in patches.

Your loyalty is admirable and your endurance goes beyond mine - and that's not me being sarcastic or rude.

  5. Let me see.....2-3 hours travel time, possible 2 hours match duration, cost of fuel £16, turnstile £16 (say) each for two, program, food, etc £12. Then there's the expectation and subsequent let down of the display at Clyde and the general standard of entertainment so far. What else could my son and I do with 4 -5 hours and £60? See a film, have a game or two of bowling and then go for a pizza/Chinese/steak? I would suggest that the entertainment and enjoyment of this alternative is much higher and the value for money positive, unlike watching most games in div one. I will only pay £50-£60 so many times and be the opposite of entertained before I decide to try something else. Giving this one a miss.

  6. Always thought last season's efforts led to unrealistic expectations, and that this wasn't going to be the season we all hoped for. Early days yet, I know, but a poor start that will take a while to recover from. Alan Main was poor against Clyde (who don't look like the worst team I've seen in this league). Central defence changes every week. No central midfield. No striker. No backbone. Weak from back to front. Good cup runs and indifferent league form. Are we turning into Airdrie?
