First game was when saints played Preston North End after Willie McIntosh had been transferred to them my faither took me. Seeing saints give some big teams i:e Hibs with the Famous Five and Hearts with Conn Bauld and Wardhaugh. Also playing BB football on the south inch and hearing the record crowd that far away. As mentioned before the toilets had a special aroma.

All you dedicated saintees deserve a pat on the back for all the time and effort you spent thinking of ways to get bums in the seats and behind the team. It would be in G.B. and his boys interest to meet an organized committee comprised off some of you. Sometimes it may be just like running buses from surrounding areas like Crieff Blairgowrie etc. person going to game can bring another on bus for half price or free, drop off at McD and downtown, just a thought
-
Memory problems probably down to high intake of Carlsberg Special around that time period
-
What date was that and anybody know what the players were that night, I think Bobby Moore and Kevin Bond were two of W.H players and Charlie McF. and all the boys

I remember being in the enclosure the night they played West Ham in the first floodlight game, the Cuban missile crisis was going on and one of my mates was sure we would be battering round the square at Queens Barracks the next day. Anybody else there that night.
