Just thought I'd come on to say a big congratulations to St Johnstone for reaching a Scottish Cup semi final. I hope you all enjoy your big day at Hampden. It's more important that you guys have a nice day in the sun than it is for us, given that we'll be going back for the final...
  2. Alright lads. Just a quick note to say if you can't raise a team for saturday, we (Fir Park Corner) would be happy to play you in a friendly home or away on Sunday. Give me a shout if you're up for it. Cheers, Frazzle
  3. There has definitely been crossed wires somewhere here because I'm the gaffer and I said "Any volunteers?" when your boy went off. Gav said "I'll go" and I responded with "Make sure you're just as shite as you normally are then!" and that was the end of it. He went away, came back with a blue shirt and said the boy was going to go back on but if he couldn't last then he'd play for you. We've lent players (and been loaned players) loads of times over the years and there's absolutely no way I'd see a team play disadvantaged when there's guys fit to play standing about. I think there's maybe been a bit of underlying bad blood from the game in Perth festering away in the back of one or two minds and that's what maybe has caused this post. I will say on the record now that if you only have ten players next time because Frenchy 89 is in a cream puff then we will 100% lend you a player!
  4. I think yer man has got the wrong end of the stick there. Big Gav went to play for you, even went as far as to take a strip, but he came back over to us at half time saying the injured boy was going to strap his knee up and go back on. We had five subs so we were more than happy to give you someone because it's a pain in the arse having to make loads of changes to give everyone a game. Anyway, was just on to say thanks for travelling even though you were short of bodies. Also a wee word of apology for the state of the park- was a quagmire by the end and there was supposed to be a 2pm game which was called off. Will hopefully get another game with you boys before the end of the season. Cheers.
  5. Alright lads, pitch is booked for a 10am kickoff on Castlehill Road in Overtown. The Post Code for the pitch is ML2 0QS and it is situated directly behind the post office on the main street. If you need directions give me a shout, but I'm sure one of you boys will have sat-nav on your tractor :-) Also, do you have any idea how many of you will be coming back for soup and sandwiches? It's en route to both Hamilton if you are going to their midden for the Saints game, and to the motorway if you're heading back home. Looking forward to another handbags royal rumble! Frazzle
  6. Alright lads, First of all I'd like to start with an apology for our boys part in the unsavoury end to yesterdays game. I really hope that this doesn't have an affect on the relationship between the two sides that has been pretty much flawless over the past decade. I'd also like to explain why I feel there was a level of frustration with some of our guys before a ball had even been kicked. This was our fifth game of the season, our third away from home, and on all three occasions the home team has been unable to organise a referee. Don't get me wrong - I know how difficult it can be and I'm in no way having a go at Dougie or whoever was trying to get one for saturday. I'm just trying to explain what caused it to boil over. I understand the point that the IFA is about having a friendly game between fans, but there is still a healthy level of competitiveness and not having a proper referee does undermine the game to some extent. Having said that, I thought the guy who stepped in did ok - only getting one major decision wrong - it was more the manner of him that was winding people up. I think everyone accepts that refs - even proper qualified ones - will make mistakes and that's fine - it was the way he spoke to people that created an issue on saturday. It's fair to say that some of our boys are becoming disenchanted with the IFA set-up for a number of reasons, and the lack of referees at away games is probably nothing more than the straw that broke the camels back. The lack of teams to play that coincide with Motherwell games is getting worse, teams pulling out of games at short notice is increasing and teams avoiding travelling when we've played them at their place is starting to piss everyone off. I don't want us to join a more structured league because I genuinely love what the IFA is all about, and its brilliant that we can just mark days out of the calendar (Scottish Cup games, Inverness away, Scotland games, etc) where we go and make a day of it watching the 'Well as a team, but all the things I mentioned above combined with farcical days like saturday are leading to increased pressure on me to do something about it. I won't, but I hope I've managed to explain why a couple of people lost the rag on saturday there. I've went right off on a tangent but, like I said, I hope this doesn't affect anything between the teams going forward and I look forward to hosting you boys at our place when Saints are down at Fir Park. I also think that you should strongly consider putting G out to pasture again as this would never have happened if he hadn't come back. Peace out. Frazzle Moan Ra 'Well (and Ra 'Corner!)

Alright lads - just a quick post to see how many (if any) of you will be up for coming back to our pub for pies after the game?
  8. Alright lads - I can't access my emails at work so I thought I'd stick this on here so you can start making your plans early. Kickoff is 10am at Beltane parks in Wishaw. I know a few of you are from down this neck of the woods but just in case, here's directions (according to the AA) from McDiarmid Park. We've paid the pitch so if you guys could square up the ref that would be excellent. Any problems, give me a phone. Cheers. How are you looking for this game lads? I've got everything booked and paid for so if you could let me know ASAP I would appreciate it. Its booked for a 10am kickoff, but if you want to play earlier than that so you can party afterwards then that would suit us aswell because the 'Well game kicks off at 1230. Even with a 10am start, we'd be in the pub comfortably before then anyway. I've sorted pies for you guys aswell. I can't access my emails through the day so a reply on here or a text to 07920424590 would be appreciated. Hope you can make it. Cheers. Frazzle
