When reading stuff it can come across wrong . Ultimately it all started with a guys 50th birthday, and grew year after year. I’ve been twice , the stadium is impressive and they can pull in on average a bigger crowd than Saints. Football standard wise, it is hard to tell, as usual some great technique from some players and the last game was a derby match we went over too, that was magic . When we go away it’s always arranged around when saints don’t play, and some of the guys go out more frequently. Everyone of us was shocked when we seen the announcement as well, we found out the same way on Twitter etc and on clubs main website, I gather some of the board members went over after the hibs game and have seen them play and the whole set up for themselves.! On Saturday you’ll see… but think one idea was to give Royster aka SLF a pint of San Miguel a sunbraroe hat a wee sun tan and a Hercules / saints scarf ! or maybe even a top!! haha! They know all the saints songs and fly the flags at their matches now. I really think the main advantage to this won’t be players at senior level , but maybe for youth players and fringe players going out on loan and the training facilities that are on offer. Also guess it gives saints fans a place to go if they want to catch football on a holiday. Could be a decent pre season trip on cards as well? There’s lots of teams from the Spanish leagues in that region! But just want to stress we had no idea of this happening either! Was also hearing prior to this that many of the FCU were planning on going next year as well. It’s not Barcelona or Real Madrid to be fair , but a team and bunch of fans who will make you feel welcome. And hopefully works out as a good move for both clubs .
