  1. Fair enough. It’s your club fellas and if that’s the way things are done then I can accept that. I figured a discussion forum would be the place to, well, discuss something like this. Apologies, that’s my mistake. I’m sorry I opened my trap now tbh. I’ve made my point though and I’ll go with whatever the committee decides on the subject.
  2. Fair enough Gav. The easier the better probably. The money thing is easy though, just take it at the wnd of the game. But I'd point out It was probably never an issue in the past becuase no one has ever been charged a fiver for 9 or 20 minutes football before. I don't think it should happen again no matter whose on the bench.
  3. Aye, it gets messy if we look at all the possibilities. That's why I think it's best if everyone who starts simply pays the full amount regardless, theory being you'll be a sub at some point in the future and will pay a reduced rate then to make up for it. Plus if the first team all pay the full amount it still guarantees the club a set base "income" each match.
  4. I’ve given this some thought as it’s a bit of a double negative pointing out something you don’t agree with and then failing to offer a solution. This is just a suggestion so feel free to shoot it down if it’s pish. To start with and make the waters less murky everyone should agree to pay full price if they make a first team start. The law of averages, if everyone gets a shot in the first team through regular rotation this should balance itself out over the course of the season. It won’t be perfect of course but it uncomplicates things dramatically. I propose the following pricing structure as a possible alternative to what happens at present: Non Members: First team start: £5.00 First Half Substitute Appearance: £4.00 Second Half Substitute appearance: £3.00 Less than ten minutes: £2.00 Members: First Team Start: £3.00 First Half Substitute Appearance: £2.50 Substitute Appearance: £2.00 Less than 10 minutes: £1.50 It’s the fairest thing I can think off. I have no qualms being a sub, christ I’d be lucky to last an hour at full pelt anyway. And as Gav said, a few players have spent the last 4 or 5 weeks waiting for a chance. But paying full whack for 10 – 20 minutes for 4 or 5 weeks on the trot is a bit rubbish in my view. Any thoughts?
  5. oops. Two bodies and a kit bag. You would have had to play starkers.
  6. Oh aye, I'll be sticking around and buying a membership. However I still feel it is unfair to charge subs (whether it's me or anyone else) a steep price for barely taking part. I don't think the solution needs to be overly complicated either - simply charge subs, and those who are subbed, less at the end of the game. I played 20 mins and my Passenger Neil played 9 mins. We probably would have been more productive staying out the back of Ormonds.
  7. Thanks Craig, not trying to cause any trouble. I hope it doesn't come across that way.
  8. A little disappointed at having to pay a fiver for 20 minutes of a game along with a fiver petrol to get there. All in all, a tenner to be the teams half time waterboy is a bit steep. IMO I don't think you can ask the subs who only play a fraction of the game in future matches to pay that sort of money. Speaking personally I'm now skint until payday. I honestly cannot justify spending £5 and petrol for 15 - 20 minutes of football in a friendly. Maybe. To put it in perspective 5 a side is £3.50 and you get to play for a full hour. I know there is a desire to increase club funds. But as someone said at training the other night, not everyone has a large disposable income at the minute. It's important to strike a balance between charging players to take part and putting a reasonable price on it. And in my view a fiver (and petrol in may case) for 20 minutes as a sub is not reasonable or indeed fair. Apologies if this offends anyone, but every pennies a prisoner for me just now and today was not what I would personally consider value for money.
  9. Good point, it's up there with porntube in the suspicious looking stakes. Might be worth ordering just one item ( a £1.50 pair of shorts?) to see if all goes well before committing to a bulk order?
  10. I'm guessing it's classic football shirts. I bought 2 of them at 4.99 and the sponsor lasted one wash on each occasion. Defo cover up with sprinterz if possible. http://www.classicfootballshirts.co.uk/Other-UK-Clubs-Scottish-Clubs-St-Johnstone/c76_77_353/index.html?page=1
  11. Fair enough:) Can I have "sexy bast*rd" over the shoulders of mine?
  12. The white one? Pics not showing up in phone. Buyer beware, I think this is the one the sponsor washes off after the first rinse? If not, sounds good.
  13. Hmm, I have some questions as you all make it sound smashing. Where is carneggie place, is it safe enough to bring a car without getting the wheels nicked and do the locals supply reasonably priced automatic weapons / class A drugs? Sounds like a lovely wee place. I'm in.
  14. I'll be there with bells on. Which might be a bit ridiculous looking but I'm hoping it wil catch on.
  15. Aye, spot on chaps. A session like that every week will do the job. Dissapointed there wasn't time for pass the parcel though. Brought my special parcel passing safety gloves to.
  16. I enjoyed it. Even though I was breathing out of my arse despite coming on as a sub. Was a decent run about and being the new boy it helped getting to know the team.
  17. WTF does that mean? He's still playing out of position, even if the ball is a triangle.
  18. Lot of Taylor criticism here. Remember he's a right winger playing left midfield. Parkin however is indeed a carthorse.
  19. Bit late in commenting here due to getting account approved. Enjoyed this match, particularly being in a team that had only really met each other that day but still played reasonably well. Excellent run about and good fun.
