  1. Cheers all for the kind comments. After my first post on this forum I fully expected a blasting but top notch stuff. Maybe I'll keep scores of the other teams forums, you boys are doing well. @Carse - Aye tbh not too big a difference between 4-2-3-1 and 4-4-1-1 (apart from height up pitch of wingers) Problem is the guy on the left (Macdonald) was really withdrawn centrally allowing GRainger to get ahead. Grainger has stood out for me as a big threat from your team and no wonder McInnes sometimes puts him left-wing. The other thing was your man Milne got drawn into the midfield battle and should've been behind the Celtic lines. So instead of being the one behind the striker he turned into just another CM, and had an awful game at that, culminating in that second goal. If I were McInnes I would've took advantage of our CB's inexperience together - Rogne is entirely untested and has about 3 games at this level under his belt. 1 or 2 big loons up top, hit the high balls in and wait for a mistake. Not brave, not pretty, not particularly clever but our defence has been so shocking in the air of late it's what I was fully expecting to see. Ye's are desperately missing Jody by the way.
  2. Hah, pleased about the comments. Nah I'm just a lifelong Celtic fan - not in the media industry at all. As a Celtic fan you other SPL clubs will probably laugh at this but I am annoyed with the whole Scottish media anyway, their reports are normally biased, with agendas and downright wrong. They never talk about the actual football (obviously the red-tops) and even the broadsheets, the English ones hardly give a hoot about the SPL and the Scottish ones are Glasgow and Edinburgh based respectively and again have some kind of agenda. Another thing I've been doing is reports for a fairly large Celtic fan-site, but they were very fixed on newswriting *within* the forum, an emphasis on *NEWS* and there wasn't much room for writing about what I want to write about. Throw in I've been as a hobby studying football tactics and reading stuff from good journos (like Johnathan Wilson) and really that's where my blog comes from. I know it's rich saying papers and that have an agenda (I'm a celtic fan! that's an agenda) but I do try and look at the bigger picture and respect the other clubs. Still very new my blog by the way and traffic is very low. Wasn't allow to advertise on my old "employers" website (celtic fansite) so every opportunity and all that. Cheers for reading.
  3. Hello again. I come in peace. Just updated my blog reporting on today's game. http://tictacticuk.wordpress.com Apologies for the shameless plug (again). Gone into a bit of depth about McInnes tactics if you're into that kind of thing. But in all honesty (and thinking about it now I should've said this in the blog) tactics took a bit of a step aside as your boys didn't look up for it at all today really. Anyway good luck for your game against Killie next week and if you're ever interested in the tactics of other SPL clubs, I'll be reporting on them also as and when they play Celtic so keep an eye on my blog if you're ever bored. Advertisement commerical over.
  4. Good game lads. Sadly the lapse in concentration in the early part of the game kind of killed the game for yous. Thought McInnes was right to try a more 5 man ish midfield and got the selections alright, with the exception of Milne - he was meant to be your key man paying behind striker and linking midfield but he was anonymous. Can clearly see why he was replaced. Can't understand how, on Wednesday you's had great success hitting us with all sorts of long throws and set pieces and hurting our defenders in the air and all of a sudden this game you's had zero width and barely got any good crosses in. Anyway after such an early goal seemed to kill your players belief and Celtic breezed through. Hope yous fair better against Killie next week, you can get a full brief of your tactics later tonight when I write it up on (shameless plug) http://tictacticuk.wordpress.com/ where I will be going into a good bit of detail tactically.
  5. Aye you're quite right but with number 22 not getting forward at all for me its practically 4-5-1 although im being a bit pernickity. Thought Samuel was pretty dangerous the other night so surely he'll get on soon....
  6. Sorry Celtic fan here (i accept flak) but interesting to see you's go a) 4-5-1 and not abusing our dodgy centre-halves in the air like you did on Wednesday.
  7. Cheers for the guys who've read and commented here. What I find strange about Saints is that you had a fairly steady formation and evidently have good enough players in a fairly attacking 4-4-2 to give us a real game. I can't understand the strange tinkering, especially guys out of position and I agree with the people in this thread who have already pointed that out. For Saturday we'll be looking to replace Loovens probably won't be able to. Our best bet is Hooiveld who has been a mix of alright and seriously slow/dodgy. McGinn will be replaced probably by Maloney and we might see Wilson instead of Cha - apart from that the team should be the same. Surely Enckleman would be a better bet for you guys as well and also I thought Haber looked pretty good, but Samuel better still. Only problem with Samuel is he seemed a bit keen for the hollywood goal when he could've been playing more sensibly. Also where is Jody Morris?
  8. Hello there, Celtic fan here. Thought you guys done very well last night - started off shocking and then turned pretty good and if it was SPL probably deserved a draw at least. We were the opposite, started off well and turned absolute shite. Oh well. I see there was a lot of talk about tactics, was wondering if I could shamelessly drop my blog here http://tictacticuk.wordpress.com/ It's a site for Celtic tactics really but it is in depth about the Saints performance and may un-confuse some of the guys who thought it was 3-5-2. It wasn't far off but ..... let me know hat you think. Cheers
