  1. Just come in. What a bummer, at this time of the year as well. Bang goes the party, could only happen to our support. How late was the call-off? There's going to be some mighty pissed off guys 'gals coming on here later in the day.
  2. You'll be hoping that Saints don't do too well in the SPL then and you will soon be surrounded only by die hards. Maybe you would like exclusive rights to the stadium then it would just be you and your mates. All sorts of people probably went there yesterday and if you read a few posts there were people at the match, from all over the UK, who had never been to a Saints game before in their lives. Are you gonna label them 'Glory Hunters' although yes - I suppose there were a lot o' wee neds only there for the big crowd atomosphere. I thought this 'Glory Hunter' pish was put to bed last week - but obviously not.
  3. SKY - are lapping this up. For gawd's sake if people weren't worried, they've only got to tune in to SKY. Honestly they are panic merchants 24 hour non-stop bad news. Incidentally is there any 'Hamlet' in the world where they don't have a reporter. They are at this moment in time eagerly anticipating the confirmation that the first 'person to person' swine flu transfer has taken place in the UK.
  4. Cannae text that number from my O-seas loc. Can you give some sort of area code please.
  5. It's just that these 'Glory Hunter' one liners (and I'm not referring to anyone in particular here) are awfy divisive. As can be seen on here a lot of people have been keeping quiet on the subject but have suddenly posted, as feelings are running pretty high. We saw it last season, and the season before, on our cup runs. Surely if people manage to make the journey even once a year and they like what they see they will want to come back for more. It's success (or not) that would eventually draw people back on a weekly basis. People on here (and again, I'm not referring to this particular session) who persistently bring up the subject ,are in danger of alienating the very fans they want to see supporting Saints, hopefully, as often as they possibly can. I mean one guy actually suggested the Ormond stand should be opened for 'Glory Hunters' so they wouldn't mix with the regulars. Well excuse them for wanting to attend.
  6. Wow!! Great thread this. It's something that's been annoying me for a long time and I've had a go on a couple of occasions but never put it as succinctly as cokezone has on this thread. If I managed to get a weekend off I remember often in the freezing cold winters of the 1960's on numerous occasions travelling from my base in Wales overnight on Friday's on slowtrains (relatively speaking). To arrive in Perth around 7am Saturday morning only to find later in the day that the match had been cancelled due to a frozen pitch. Often the reserves would be playing at Dunfy or Dundee or a not too distant venue, so it was another train to wherever. Glory Hunter, not me mate. cokezone you've hit the nail on the head with this one.
  7. Ach - Don't worry about it. You'll just have to get used to the fact that, due to your new circumstances, you might now be regarded, by some, as a 'Glory Hunter'. That is if you pick and choose your matches. - If there are any mitigating circumstances or, if you are really lucky, your solid support in the past could taken into account.
  8. Ascension checking in.... It could all be over before I get back.
  9. Standby, Standby...
  10. Have to disagree Dunc. Dundee would love to bring our promotion hopes crashing down. Or at least put the celebs on hold. For that reason I would travel, in fact, in that case, you're probably right. The final game might be your best option.
  11. Probabably, or possibly. Depends what he was hoping to achieve. I like sitting on this fence.
  12. As we have been for an awful lot of the season. (Tactically Naive that is)
  13. Nah! he should have switched off when he said he was going to. The end result being the mitigating factor.
  14. Now, now - we're all supposed to be on the same side.... are we not.
  15. On the positive side - if it had been played yesterday it would have f****d up Saturday and Sunday. I'll await the onslaught from those that actually paid to watch that lot.
  16. For the last 6 months we've only scored goals on the odd occasion, and rarely more than one, and even then it's a never one of our so called strikers. We've relied almost totally on results going our way. Which so far they're definitely not doing this week-end. By what I am hearing we're playing to our normal standard.
