  1. Well that was pish. Normally I can find some positives to take from every game but today NOTHING. We were second best all over the park and I suspect if we were still playing now, we would still have nil. Reality check I suppose.. 11 hours and £26 lighter... #baws
  2. I phucking loved that second half.. Phucking loved it.. Accies are a horrible team who try to disrupt the game and cheat at every opportunity. I phucking LOVE it when we beat them. Huge well played to Cummins who put in a power of work and won so many headers, chased so many lost causes and generally put himself about a lot.. Also Tanser who cannae half zing a phucking cross in... As for Paton.. he's a machine. Wee Scougall did well and Spoony did well in his short time on the pitch. Brilliant to see Chris Millar come on and even better to see the reception he got.. A few poor performances sadly.. Brian Easton... WTF has happened to him?? And mad Ricky was well off it as well.. Anyway, did I say I phucking hate Hamilton... 3 points, 2nd in the league. PHUCKING MAGIC.
  3. two things numbnuts.. One, the testimonial is not run by the club and Two, no, I was asked by one of the testimonial committee to put this in here. I hope this helps.
  4. THE Dave Mackay Testimonial match featuring St Johnstone and Dundee will feature legends from both clubs. Rival managers Tommy Wright and Neil McCann, who go head to head in the top flight derby this weekend at Dens Park, have agreed to allow veterans to pull on the boots for the final half hour of the McDiarmid Park game on Friday, October 6. The testimonial committee is working up a final list of former players keen to make an appearance and honour the former Perth captain. Chairman Scott Findlay said: “We are pleased to announce the game is being sponsored by Booker and Kilmac with both company names featuring on the shirts being supplied by TTL Sport. “We are looking to follow up on the success of the recent sell-out testimonial dinner at the Dewars Centre. It is an opportunity for fans to honour their Scottish Cup winning captain, who was denied a chance to bid a proper farewell because of injury. “We have been delighted by the number of former players from both teams keen to participate. It should be a great night.” Admission to the game, kick-off 7.30pm, will be £15 and £5 concessions (U16s and seniors). A limited number of hospitality packages are available at £55 a head, including three course meal, souvenir programme and half-time tea and biscuits. To book hospitality packages and match programme adverts, contact committee members or cuptietestimonial@gmail.com
  5. Foster gave Scougall a severe bollocking but it was more I think for not tracking back I think. poor wee Scougall looked like he might greet.. Personally I like to see that sort of passion from our players.. Foster is very committed..
  6. Great point this afternoon. We played well for about 15 minutes at the start and for 10 minutes in the 2nd half but apart from that we were not close to our best. Far to deep for most of the game, we continually gave them the ball back and just encouraged them. Some great last gasp defending and goal line clearances as well as a couple of top class saves from the keeper. Hibs are nae mugs and will win more than they lose, so all in all, given we never achieved the heights we have done so far, I'll take a point.. Oh and the referee was fooking hopeless as were his linos.. #stillunbeaten
  7. The Hibees come to town this Saturday. It will be interesting to see just how good/bad they are. I fancy us for 3 points but suspect it won't be easy. Will he manager/ player of the month hoodoo strike or will Saints put that myth to bed once and for all ? I see Muzz is back training and available.. Thoughts on the game??
  8. We got served very swiftly doon at the front. ;-). Just to let everyone know, the Club bought Daves cup final top for a staggering £1350. Well played Charlie Fraser ( Brooner was still in Vilnius after the Scotland game and probably just as well. He'll probably have tears in his eyes as he writes the cheque. lololololoololo) Boots went for near £400, signed Gareth Bale Real Madrid top went for around £700. The auction was very successful . Overall it was a great ( if a bit long) night. Club poet was excellent, both speakers were rip roaringly funny and Tommy Wright did a wee chat on stage with Cuptie. Also a very nice and funny video from Del and Doc at Aberdeen.. Well done to Scott and all the committee for the hard work they put in to make sure it was a great night.
  9. Well I for one think Dundee are a great choice of opponent.. As has already been said, it's a free weekend & any Saints v Dundee game will attract fans. It's easy for Wazzy to sit in his ivory tower over in the good old US of A and rip into Scott and the rest of his hard working testimonial committee members, but you are wrong on more than one front Romeo my old friend.. If you can get a testimonial match against local opposition then you are able to tap into some away supporters spending some coin as well as the home fans. The whole reason for the match is to raise funds for Captain Dave and this game will do that. For home fans it should matter not who we play as we are there to salute our cup winning captain, but the fact is , we all love a game against the great unwashed, testimonial or not. I am gonna go out on a limb here and say that the Dees will bring at least 700 paying bodies and hopefully the crowd will be north of 3000. If we can't muster 2500 fans ( 15,000 at the final) to show our appreciation for Dave, it will be a disgrace. Now rather than be negative Wazzy, how about making a big bid on Cupties cup final shirt.. It has to go for four figures & it would be wonderful if it did and then the buyer gave it back to our man.. That buyer could be you Romeo.. If you want to bid on the night I am happy to open a phone line from the Big Apple so you can show how much you care.. Maybe I could even ask SB if he might shake your hand. ;-) COYS.
  10. I have been asked by the testimonial committee to post this message.. DERBY DATE FOR CUPTIE TESTIMONIAL ST Johnstone’s Scottish Cup winning captain Dave Mackay will be honoured by fans at a testimonial match on Friday, October 6. Tommy Wright’s side will face the defender’s first club, Dundee, in a Tayside derby at McDiarmid Park with a 7.30pm kick-off. Testimonial committee chairman Scott Findlay welcomed the news. He said: “We are delighted that Dundee and their manager Neil McCann have agreed to take part in this match to acknowledge Cuptie’s contribution to St Johnstone. “It promises to be a memorable night and supporters will turn out in big numbers to honour one of the club’s most popular players of the modern era. “Dave, of course, also has strong ties to Dundee and I’m sure Dark Blues supporters will be keen to take in the game.” Mackay, now manager at Stirling Albion after being forced to quit playing last year with a hip injury, began his career at Dens when Jocky Scott was manager and was in a Dark Blues side bossed by Jim Duffy which lost out to Rangers in the 2003 Scottish Cup final. He made more than 100 appearances for Dundee before leaving for Oxford. Mackay signed for Saints from Livingston in 2009 and went on to make 266 starts, including the historic 2014 Scottish Cup final victory over Dundee United. On Saturday, the Dewars Centre in Perth hosts a testimonial dinner supported by Booker, with more than 300 tickets sold for the event. Dress code is lounge suit. The bars open from 6pm and it starts at 7.30pm sharp. Bids will be taken for Mackay’s cup final shirt and boots, along with other auction items donated by Gleneagles, broadcaster Tam Cowan, actor Colin McCredie, Morrison and Mackay, Castle Stuart and Aberdeen FC. A signed Gareth Bale Real Madrid shirt also goes under the hammer.
  11. Brilliant point... So proud of the entire team this afternoon. We have nae money, we have a small support, we have nae superstars but we have a POINT.... Unbeaten in 4 ..
  12. Well that'll do nicely.. Craig Gordon greeting aboot offside when Celtic player on his left is playing Macca on..
  13. I don't think there is much of a chance he would be involved again BUT fitbas a funny game and it would not take much for 3 or 4 midfielders to pick up knocks over a couple of weeks so I suppose you never know.. Gutted for Millar but accept that the manager has to make hard decisions sometimes and that that is his job .. My biggest gripe was that this has been ongoing for a good while and only when the issue started going mental on social media did the club decided to announce it.. Tommy indeed looked uncomfortable but I can tell you that that question was well planned and not just a random Ross question. The wording and timing ( in the interview) of the question was agreed at the highest level.. I spoke to Midge at the start of the week and he was obviously gutted . He told me that he was fit and available for selection, and had been for a number of weeks now, but that he could not say much more than that at that time contractually . He is glad that the club have now publicly released this information.. He is overwhelmed by the level of support he has received and has had an amazing amount of thank you and good luck messages . I hope he only goes IF he gets something that is right for him, otherwise the club should either pay up his contract in full or he should stay on a see it out...I would love him to get 5 minutes at the end of a game( which is in the bag ) just so the fans can show him their appreciation for his part in our cup win.. or at worst, a wee half time slot to say goodbye..
  14. I don't see why?? Cost the club nothing if he gets a testimonial
  15. Right then, lets see what Saints can do.. This is a freebie to be fair but if anyone can end this phucking run, we can.. We were the last team to beat the domestically so it's not as if it has never happened. Got to be tight at the back, smart with the ball and fight like tigers. Got to not lose an early goal and have to believe we can do it. They need to have an off day. Mannus has to have a great day. he needs NOT to spill shots like last weekend because unlike Thistle, these phuckers will pounce.. A plus point is I won't be there.. I have NEVER seen us win there. Every time we have got something, I have been absent and watched through my fingers on the internet.. that's the plan again this time.. Give it a go lads, don't be in awe of them and get it up them because as my good friend SLF likes to say " THEY DON'T LIKE IT UP EM" COYS.
  16. She's not talking pish at all. She's bang on the money.. Chris Millar IS fit and available for selection but is being frozen out for some reason. He can't come out and speak about it but the club can and should. Time to cut the cloak and dagger pish. Millar is one of the Scottish Cup legends and if his time is up at the club, then the club should come out and say so. If it's something personal there is no great need for details, just a short and clear statement. That's the least he deserves. I personally hope he sees out his contract with Saints...
  17. I'll take that. great 3 points from not the most fluient/fluid performance. Scougalls braw. Spooony and Muzz did well but PATON is phucking immense..
