  1. Why is this? If having justified concern for the stagnation of saints under broon and his cohorts is getting under your kilt then too bad. It is certainly nothing personal against broon but the man is showing no inclination of taking saints forward!
  2. Who saw Broons self-publicist guff in the Daily Mail today. Would someone please tell him we need a manager for the here-an-now and not a "potential" star of tomorrow. We are not a workshop for managers to make mistakes and cut their teeth. To here him crow you would think he had the midas touch at unearthing managerial gems. Two decent picks out out of 7 would suggest otherwise! I would much rather him spend his time reasuring the saints support that his board knows the way to grow the club and return us to the premier league. I have my doubts!
  3. Well, this seems to have provoked a wide range of opinions and that can only be a good thing but I dont change my origininal stance. Look at the board additions over the years and it has been ran like a private members club. Friends sub-servient to Geoff are welcome but anyone remotely wishing to rasise the bar or rock the boat is given a wide berth. It is frankly silly to think a club on such a sound footing as saints does not have people wanting to become involved. His managerial and coaching appointments have been decidedly mixed with only two coming up to scratch, one of whom was allegedly sacked for non-football matters. The youth set-up is laughable and compared to for instance Hamilton we are languishing miles behind. Do they have any structure or goals? We lost arguably our two best players in the summer but didnt replace them, lost out in a bid for Offiong when he is on £500 a week at Hamilton and it is easy to see why I beleive their is lack of realistic ambition. Whatever happened to the stadium plans, hotel, development next to the ground or not to mention the money wasted twice on the floodlights..? Look I am not saying it is all doom and gloom I just want some forward thinking and transparency.
  4. IF BROON had anae ambition for saints he would have signed offiong from hamilton (high wage £500 weaken a rival) at the start of the season and Billy Reid as manager. BUT HE LOVES BOTTOM SUCKERS!!!!
  5. SLICKDT you miss my point. Hamilton were nearly goosed a couple of years ago but have regrouped and have arguably the best youth set-up in scotland nw. Saints from a hell of a better start have been left behind......
  6. Well as I said it is all about opinions! If the highlight of st jonstone for u is ELTON JOHN then fine but my bar is slightly higher!!
  7. SLICK DT do you really beleive that saints are so unatractive to investors. How do you think that hamilton and dundee have turned thmemselves round so quickly? We are are shambles from top to botom!!!
  8. SLICK DT and MUZZ I dont see any real reason that you portray for the retention of the chairman. He has prosided over completete failuer over the past 5 years. NO stadium investment. NO team inestment. No board investment. No club investment. NO PROGRESS!! Geoff is scared of progress and loves back-side lickers!
  9. WE nned some new blood or a total take- over! Anyone who still sees otherwise is blind!!FERMER BROON Must go!!
  10. Absolutely, the only good managers have been totten and sturrock. This guys failurers are have been many. Floodlight slgiht of hand has been comman and saints have wasted 125000 this year! IFU R HAPPY WITH 1ST DIV THEN GO EASY IF NOT THEN **** GEOFF!!!
  11. SAINTS r being found out which is really SAD given the POVERTY of the 1st div. SHAME ON YOU GEOFF!!! OLD PERTH WILL NEVER FORGIVE!!!
  12. With sadness i pen these lines. If u r happy with geoff and duff u will b happy with 1st div football. IF not then lets look at the facts. Hamilton have prospered with little resources and no cash and have gone from no-hopers to probable league winners within 2 years.WHEN WILL U ALL REALISE THAT BROON IS A DUD!!
  13. Really disapointing news. It is not exactly the special job that mcleish said it would take him to move. He has let his country down to an extent as he new the job description when he happily signed his contract. Agree with prevoius thread in what was the point in trailing to the draw. Hopefully it does not effect great progress from the national team. I think we could have a really exciting team these next few years. How about approaching Fergie to take it part-time with Gary Mac full time assistant with view to the future.
  14. Hope he proves a great success but this was a lamentable and totally predictable appointment from Brown. We are not a wee club where managers cut their teeth and learn their trade. We are a premier league club in all but name and need a management team to get us back there and take us on. It is a HUGE gamble and I reckon we will be no further forward this time next year. Is he too faird to appoint a manager who might actually have ambition for the club> We dont need another rookie backside-licker with an A in media studies. Brown has got away with this in the afterglow of the cup win but time will tell...
