  1. NO CHANCE IN THE WORLD, TV PAYS/DICTATES FOOTBALL, PART OF FOOTBALL LIFE I'M AFRAID.
  2. I know plenty FEB's Phil. Did that offend you? I did say no offence to anyone, and meant it.
  3. The CL will never go tits up, it is here to stay like it or not. I'm a traditionalist and would love it to be for Champs and the old non seeded knock out, but that will never happen, TV dictates and the CL is TV heaven. I'm certain 99% of football enjoy it too. As for those "Scottish football fans" who put their hatred of the OF before the good of Scottish football (and that includes the good of St Johnstone), you need to take a good look at yourselves. Ask any chairman/board of any Scottish club and they will tell you how much we need Scottish teams in Europe, the vast majority of Scottish football fans can see it also, it is only a small minority that are blinkered. Yes you can give me all the bigotry, Ireland, E***and guff the OF fans come out with but that does not take away the need for our country to be in the forefront of European football. As already stated there WILL be an automatic entry into the CL and another in the qualifiers and pretty soon we should have another UEFA spot on top of the extra place because of 2 CL places. Hearts, Hibs and maybe Killie fans will be jumping for joy. Saints chance will come again and when it does I'm sure you will all be praising the exploits of all our clubs in Europe if we got that extra UEFA place.

    STEVO

Now that Stevo has been named MOM by a few, will he disappear again for 6 games or can he make it 2 in a row? IMHO I think he only played well for about 20 mins against Brechin and still looked a wee bit short on confidence when it came to taking someone on, and ended up crossing the ball far too early. He is a player who needs confidence in his game and hopefully he can build on the praise he got for Saturday and carry it forward into the games coming up.
  5. As it stands we have one team in the group stages already and the league runners up playing two qualifiers, assuming they can win the 1st qualifier (which consists of diddier teams than ours) even a defeat in the second round gets them a UEFA spot. Loadsa European games next year. More games means more points, it is a spiral, all for the benefit if Scottish football. By the time we get back in the SPL we might have 3 uefa places and we'll just need to finish 4th
  6. YES THEY CAN, BUT WINNING GETS THE COUNTRY MORE CO-EFF POINTS. THAT IS ONE OF THE REASONS HEARTS WILL BE IN THE CL NEXT YEAR.
  7. Hope the Rangers get thru tonight. COME ON.

    GAZZA

Aye yer probably right, probably doing more than drinking We'll not go there though. The guy is an admitted alky and Kettering would have known that, but all the same they will be loving the publicity the clubs getting, lets face it, everyone will be talking about Kettering. A bit of good PR if you ask me.
  9. I reckon there should be no Canadian lovers on the forum either
  10. ma faither. It is not me on it twice. There is sure to be someone's name missed out, Xara are actually waiting for the complaints to come in, could your dad be the first to be posted missing.
  11. It was deliberate to put the names down the middle rather than all over as it makes it look cheap with the print all over. The players will be wearing the new names version tomorrow for the first time.
  12. We get it cheaper than most clubs do anyway. It is not long ago we were paying
  13. You can expect the SFA to announce in the near future that a minutes applause is preferred.
  14. I would give any person a minutes respect, even the queen of e***and , but IMHO there is a time and a place. I think in the past 3-4 years we have had more minute silences than we have had over the 40 years before that. That says alot about when it appropriate and when not. I also believe that pressure is put on clubs/individuals to have these tributes and in 90% of the cases there would be no tributes at certain matches without the pressure of "will we or won't we", "they are so we will have to". Princess Di was a perfect example where pressure from outside football postponed an International match againts the SFA's wishes. Different altogther from the weekend but the same principal.

    SHERIDAN

Correct it is not his fault, never said it was, but just because it is not his fault does not hide the fact that he cannot do it and therefore playing the role he does is no good to us. How hard is this to get thru? Most people admit it, but do not see him as a problem

    SHERIDAN

Yer getting me mixed up wi Erchie

    SHERIDAN

I've tried to back up most of the replies, hope I havn't missed anything. For people to reply by saying he is a defensive midfield player, attacking is not his job, they are backing up my point, he should not be in there if that is the case. He should be deeper and we should have a central midfield player in front of him. Let him win the balls in front of the defence and then he can give it to the midfield player in the centre to create and drive.

    SHERIDAN

But he is in the centre of midfield and that position sees more of the ball than most players on the park, so his job is to drive forward, create moves but he just can't do it. That is my whole point.

    SHERIDAN

    Try the past 6/7 games

    SHERIDAN

So it is okay to give the ball away frequently as long as you fight to win it back? "we need a creative, attacking, energetic midfield player who can play further forward" spot on, but we cannot get that without Sheridan moving back and letting that player play in centre midfield.
