I dont know if it is true, but four unconnected people have said it now.

O'Hallorans completely wasted up front, he needs to drive from deep. This was proved last season. MacLeans got three goals in 14 months now. Id like to see Swanson, Wotherspoon and O'Halloran all floating about behind Kane or Sutton tbh, everyones saying its been confirmed we wont be signing anyone else this Summer though, so Swansons possibly just a dream.

Theres no point judging him on that, Sunday against Sociedad I expect will be better for that. Looked quick, strong and tall though. Which is always nice.

^ This. Not particularly sure what people expected from Sutton, and its not particularly his fault we've decided to completely ignore his strengths and just hope he'll win headers because hes over 6 foot

Kanes not miles better, Sutton is the best striker we have, clearly. Hes never going to win a foot race or close down for 90 minutes, but he will bury 90% of the chances he gets in the box, Ive no idea why we bothered signing him if were not going to use him properly. Id rather see us try and get players up to support Sutton and get balls into the box for him than watch us punt balls in the corner for Kane to try and do something impossible with. Ideally we'd start with both up front, but with MacLean being undroppable it wont happen.

Suttons our best striker, we're just completely wasting him by standing twenty yards off him. Can't understand the point in signing a proven penalty box goalscorer then never creating a chance for him. If anyones "past it" then its MacLean, sadly.

No excuses, we shouldve won that. Disgraceful result, and hopefully the club bounce back from this knock like they usually do. We need to have more ambition attacking wise though, too often we're happy to just thump balls forward and hope something happens.

The options just get worse from here on out, we can't be far away from looking at players like McFadden again. I'd happily see us sign Craig and McAlister just now, both fill positions we need players, both can play at this level, and both would be happy sitting on the bench from the start of games. As much as I like Swanson and really want him back, I dont think we can afford to turn down decent options to wait and see if he becomes available, as it could easily be mid-August by the time Coventry decide, we can't still have gaping holes in the squad by then.

Wheres this "cant sign anyone unless we progress" come from? TW was on the radio today and made a comment about looking at a couple of options and hopefully having something sorted within the next week with whichever ones he wants. Wouldnt be heartbroken with McAlister and Craig tbh, both fill roles we're in need of, and both can cope at this level. Obviously we'd probably need a more creative player too (please God let it be Swanson), but its not an absolute neccesity, while we also have no idea how the likes of OHalloran, Wotherspoon, Kane and Cummins will do this year. In six months they could have 25 goals and assists between them and we'll be delighted with things.

The season he left he was brutal until the final few months, when he became a pivotal player on our charge up the league. Id love him back the more and more i think about it. Him, McCabe and Swanson wound inject a freshness and drive to our side from midfield and is exactly whats needed in our squad. Get it done.
