  1. Dave Mackay is the man for the job. Passionate, honest and talented. I'm guessing that Jody's amendment to his Twitter description may give some indication to what his thoughts are. He's been a top player for us, a genuine class act, and I wish him well if he's leaving.
  2. It's all the SPL clubs who are to vote. We'll know by July just how bereft of integrity our national game is, it's then up to you as a punter to make a choice.
  3. Worth bearing in mind that all of this is before the formal findings of the undisclosed payments to players. As it stands, the SPL are due to release the fixture list soon with a club in the liquidation process for the first time in world football. We're treading in uncharted and unwanted territory with this one.
  4. So, here we are. Failing the Revenue pursuing the assets before they get transferred to the new company, and failing the SPL and SFA hammering them out for cheating with undisclosed payment to players, we will have a football club with the same name, history , bigoted principles and zero debt in the SPL. The chairmen have to chap this on the head.
  5. That's quite clearly not the points being made.
  6. It'll be in the accounts. I suspect the answer is zip.
  7. Good column from Gordon Waddell in the Record. You know it's serious when the mainstream Scottish sports journalist starts reflecting the thoughts of the Diddies... Unity is strength for fans By Gordon Waddell on Jun 10, 12 07:15 AM in The only thing worse than someone thinking you're gullible is proving them right. So more fool any Rangers fan buying the snake oil Charles Green is selling. Supporters must realise the power they have. The worst thing anyone can do is underestimate their collective strength. Or play up to the maxim that you CAN fool all of the people, all of the time. Anyone buying a season ticket for any SPL club right now would be walking straight in to that trap. And so would any Rangers fan seduced by Green's spurious, ludicrous come-on of having a vote to change the name of Murray Park. Seriously? Does Green think the punters will believe that's him getting the job done for their club? Sure, there'll be a rump of idiots who think it's significant. And, yes, Sir Dave the Duped maybe doesn't deserve to have his name on the one legacy he thinks he left the club. Especially when his true legacy can be found in ashes over in Govan. As cheapskate, issue-dodging stunts go, it's right up there. Same as Dave King's statement, to be fair. Empty grandstanding. He's right on one thing, though. They need fans in the ground. They need their money. Hence the flim-flam act, trying to entice you. Yet they still treat the supporters likemugs? Look at Cardiff City. A month ago it looked like their punters' protests had quelled a move to change their bluebird into a dragon. But the owners just went ahead and did it anyway last week. Sod the tradition, sod the punters, let's take the cash. Forgetting, meanwhile, the cash that fills their stands every week. The chairmen of all the other SPL clubs, with the exception of Motherwell, can't sell a season ticket for love nor money, because there's not a punter out there who knows what he's buying it for. So they're withholding. They're using their leverage against their clubs to tell them what they expect them to do. They're waiting to see the outcome of the Rangers CVA then if it goes to a newco vote, they're waiting to see if their club do what they think is morally correct. And they're quite right. It's making chairmen think hard about representing the wishes of the people who back them week in, week out. It's making them work out that the consequences of going without fans will be far greater than the consequences of living without Rangers. There's power in the stands. And the clubs who respect it the most will be the ones who suffer the least. The strength of supporters is in their collective weight. Even the most anti-Murray Rangers supporter can surely see that renamingMurray Park doesn't amount to a hill of beans among their other problems. It just doesn't register compared to the financial armageddon facing them. Yet they try to flog it as the headline news from a three-hour meeting with their fans on Wednesday? Even the two names on offer. Who chose them? One of them is Davie Cooper. Class player or not, club legend or not, but he didn't even come through their own system. Surely that's the point? Signing Rino Gattuso? Again, another Godsend of a sideshow for Green. The guy's been saying for years he wanted to come back to Rangers and here he is, in their hour of need. Who's he signing for? Duff and Phelps? Then you've got Rangers announcing a pre-season tour to Germany, a trip that'll cost anywhere between 50 and 60 grand. Same as they did last year and didn't pay for. If I'm a creditor, I'm wondering where the money to fund that is coming from, when they've got a perfectly adequate - if nameless - training facility at home. So if you're a fan sitting there with your 500 quid, ask yourself what you're buying with it before handing over the cash. The problem punters often face is they WANT to believe what they're hearing. But as someone once said, don't be so open-minded that your brains fall out.
  8. Obviously a personal choice but like you said, it's potentially only one game.
  9. So are Haudit and Daudit! Hopefully the Revenue's amendment today will assist in Green being unable to pull of an asset switch and more accurate valuations of the property assets are generated by the neutral liquidators.
  10. Not content with willingly breaking SFA and FIFA membership rules by contesting a panel decision in civil court, this mob is now rubbing creditors nose in it by announcing a continental tour this summer. The SFA are also acknowledging the fact rules were broken but are openly admitting they will not pursue the matter. This charade must end before we end up deeper in corruption.
  11. Get a call into Sainsbury's. They seem keen to raise local profile.
  12. Tax and NI still payable under any employment regardless of the company's position. Nothing verified as of yet but questions needing answered.
  13. There is very much a united front of Diddy fans on this one. The thread on PnB is one measure of the feelings of all the supporters of the clubs. Remember, each and every one of our clubs has one share in this league. The same equity as both the Old Firm clubs. It may feel like there is inequity because there is. We've been marginalised and need to stick together. History has proven that there is seldom any merit in an oppressed majority.
  14. Dear all non-Bears, It has come to our attention that you are upset that our fight with the SFA may lead to Scotland and Scottish teams being prevented from playing in International or European matches. We would just like to offer our sincerest, most heartfelt declaration of how sorry we are No, not about it happening; about the fact that we have somehow managed to convey the wholly inaccurate impression that we give a **** what happens to your paedophile club/pishy wee provincial side or national team. This is entirely our fault, and we promise to ensure there is no repeat of such behaviour. With that in mind, please take this as the completely definitive, unequivocal statement it is meant as. We couldn't give the first pull of a toss about you, never have and never will Go **** yourself, The Rangers Support Make of this what you will. It's been wholeheartedly supported on one Rangers forum. Oddly, as an open letter, it's only available to view if you're a member.
  15. I think a similar provision was made when Livi were asked to provide a bond of assurance. Wasn't too much of a problem. You can feel the 'mood music' shifting on this one since Rangers broke a further rule of association by taking this to court.
  16. He's got a point, this is a massive strategic move for the club and hasn't exactly crept up.
  17. Mr Souness is going to be sitting uncomfortably from what I've heard.
  18. I used to drive up past the stadium at rush hour and the traffic was minor annoyance. It would be interesting to see the case for this and projected uplift in traffic.
  19. Depends on which way you see it, it's still discretionary subject to an EGM of members. I was pleased with some of the soundbytes coming from Gilmour especially.
  20. This latest act of folly may in fact prove the last for them. This needs to be ended now.
  21. Exactly, the SFA have it in their remit to expel clubs nd if ever there was a scenario where that would be prudent then this is it.
  22. The charges of disrepute are mounting. It would take a summer to get through the list of dishonourable acts this mob has pulled off. My understanding is there is far more to come in this story. Deceit, subterfuge and engrained cheating.
  23. Interesting piece, I wonder how our League Cup final at McCann's shiny new stadium was perverted by Murray's misappropriation.
  24. It would be interesting to know. What an odd reference it was, seeing it on the news.
